Do you need me to take you back to the hospital?” he asks, concern clearly all over his expression. “No, no. I’m fine. Just things still hurt if I do much, like laugh.” He nods in understanding. “We don’t have to go much farther to get there.” “Good,” I say. “I need a hot shower and some food with flavor.”

I bet he just said that as a joke. Liana barked out laughing like a banshee in my head causing me to jerk in my seat. Victoria shoots me a worried look. “Are you ok?” I held my hand up to signal her. “I’m fine, just a headache.” And a horndog for a wolf. Liana huffed but that doesn’t stop me from blocking her mentally. I have enough headaches for the day.
