I left the garden in a daze, my heart pounding violently against my chest like a drum signaling an incoming storm. Tears stung my eyes, and I didn’t bother wiping them as they streamed down my cheeks. By the time I reached my room, I could barely breathe. I collapsed onto my bed, hugging myself tightly as if that would somehow hold together the pieces of my breaking heart.

It had been almost a week since I miscarried, and he couldn't even be bothered to call me, yet he stopped by my ward because Sue caught a little cold. Sue walked in with a bouquet, saying it was for me, but when she saw the drawing on my bedside table, she totally lost it. "A drawing! It's a drawing!" She crouched down, covering her ears and crying her eyes out. "Zach, hurry! Burn it!" Zach was really worried about her and didn't even check what was in the drawing. He smashed the frame to the floor and flicked open his lighter. My anger boiled over. I yanked the IV needle out of my hand and lunged forward. I stepped on some glass shards, leaving small drops of blood behind me.

But as he steps back, his voice drops to a whisper. “I love you.” Then the mattress rises as he leaves, the soft click of the door the only sound in the quiet room. I sit there, gripping onto myself, forcing my breathing to slow. Only when I’m sure he’s gone do I finally let go. My entire body trembles as the dam inside me breaks. Heaving sobs rip through me, curling me into myself, choking me. I don’t know how long I stay like this—minutes, hours—until a gentle knock at the door pulls me from my anguish.

Either answer was unbearable. Rain suddenly started pouring from the sky again, and Zane finally pulled back from the kiss. He slowly lifted his head. Just before our eyes could meet, I stumbled backward and ran into the rain. On the way home, I bought myself a birthday cake and held it tightly against my chest. As soon as I got through my front door, I didn't even have the strength to open the box before collapsing to the floor with a thud. The delicate cake was smashed on impact, and with my body burning up and my head dizzy, I couldn't even crawl to my bed.

I heaved a long sigh as the silence continued to be crashed out by the heavy rain outside hitting the glass claddings and windows continuously. My eyes were now hurting as tears filled them. Having to recollect all those hurtful memories since my breakup with Christian to having gotten married to Mason. It was a painful one that my chest churned everytime I thought about it that I couldn't stop tears from forming in my sockets.

Just how? I move closer to her and called out her name numerous times but didn't get a respond from her,she was lying there peacefully, my heart was hurting, I my self was hurting, how could she leave me when she promised not to,I tried all my best to wake up but later realise that she's gone and she could never come back to me I was so devastated,I don't know what else to do "Kareem please don't do this to your self, don't hurt your self,she's gone,she's gone.. The door shut behind him, leaving silence so heavy I could hear my own breathing. I stood there for a long time, staring at the empty space he’d left, the sheets still wrinkled from someone else’s body. The hot tears then came, sliding down my cheeks until they dripped onto my trembling hands. I wanted to scream and smash every lamp, every glass, until there was nothing left but shards, until the room outside matched the wreckage inside me. But instead, my knees gave out. I sank to the floor, curling over as I pressed my hand against my belly.

Heartbreak usually comes in different ways. Sometimes, it’s you holding your heart out as it is gushing out with hot tears that is as thick as blood. Sometimes, it is you hurting inside without having enough words to speak outside. All just because everything hurts inside. It was not merry. It was nothing too far, too close. But I just wanted to get away. I was not heartbroken. At least not yet, but I could not say the same for the man I was staring at. The same man I had been staring at for two minutes, which had felt like the first two hours of my first life.

Derek informed, walking ahead of me. My heartbeat dropped in my stomach, as I stared at his back. When a wolf lost the will to live and suffered too much pain…he or she was prone to fall into an endless sleep and then there was no waking up. That was what Broken Heart Syndrome meant for us. The heart would slowly come to a stop, and then there would be eternal peace. I shook my head, refusing to let these thoughts settle in. She wouldn’t die. The positivity didn’t help the stupid ache in my eyes though.
