Redemption’s Sweet Surprise

The following week was a whirlwind of samples and catalogs. Luther, Keila, and I sat at the mansion’s dining table, which was covered with tiles, fabric swatches, and paint chips. Luther had a spreadsheet open, rating each option on durability, maintenance, and “aesthetic coherence.”
Keila held up two blue paint chips. “This one is ‘Sky Whisper.’ This one is ‘Brisk Blue.’ Which one is better for thinking?”
“‘Brisk Blue’ has a higher LRV, or Light Reflectance Value,” Luther recited. “It will make the room brighter, which correlates with improved alertness.”
