Chander's sudden interruption brought her back. "Miss Hila, let me help you take care of the other eleven." She didn't feel light headed or drunk anymore. "Why would you help me? You are in no position to gain anything from their deaths and if you are, just shut it and consider yourself lucky that your competition just got lower." All Helena could think of was her weekend at a certain David’s house while his wife was out of town. It took a bit of time before I could get rid of the ladies and their questions, the party was still in full swing and I could see Ricardo talking and mingling with people, he was smiling so brightly that it took my breath away. "He is so handsome, isn't he?" A female voice said beside me. I turned to find that it was a blonde lady, she looked so beautiful. She was dressed in a black short dress and had her hair packed in a high bun, she wasn't using any make-up, just her red lipstick. "Who are you?" I asked, really curious to know who this woman is. "Helena Lock, I was supposed to marry your husband," She said with an innocent smile and an extended hand.

Helena rolled her eyes and take a quick sip on her tea before shifting her eyes at me. "I have a really weird question for you, Selena" she started. "I hope you don't mind to hear it" Caught off guard, I blink at her unsure what to say. Weird question? What does supposed to mean? "Helena" Nicolai stop her. "Sure, I don't really mind" I said. She smiled and flip the bangs of her hair showing off the diamond earrings that glistening from the natural light that went passed through the wall length glass window.

"Of course, dear. How fortunate you found someone so... successful." Helena gritted her teeth through a dozen similar conversations, each one chipping away at her confidence. Where was Alexander? He'd promised he'd be here. Had he changed his mind? Was this all just some elaborate game to him? No, she told herself firmly. He wouldn't do that. He promised. But as another thirty minutes crawled by with no sign of him, doubt began to creep in. Then the lights dimmed. A woman Helena had never seen before walked to the stage and took the microphone. She was maybe forty, dressed in an expensive but slightly dated black dress, her makeup a touch too heavy.
