Celeste traced her thumb over the green, wishing for more.
Paul watched her tape the second copy and said, “You color-coded us.”
“Yes.”
“Am I red?”
“No,” she said. “You’re yellow.”
He squinted, offended on principle. “What does yellow mean?”
“Unpredictable.”
He smiled, pleased, like it was a compliment he’d earned. “Correct.” Then, with a mock bow, he added, “Unpredictability is my only consistent trait.”
Mark stood back from the wall, arms crossed, and exhaled visibly. “Okay. Good. This. This is what we needed.”
