Curiosity piques within me, but I swiftly avert my eyes, not wishing to draw any attention to myself. Leaving the hallway behind, I make my way towards the elevator that will transport me to the lowest floor of the mansion. With each descending floor, the atmosphere grows heavier, as if the very air holds the weight of secrets and hidden truths. The elevator doors open, revealing the entrance to the dreaded dungeon.

Monty finished reading and lifted his eyes at the other two. "Great." Rashid said, though he didn't sound amazed as he should. The confusion came from not knowing where these spots were in Hunter’s remodeled mansion. "This second one is obvious. Behind the fireplace. What about the other three?" "Let's call Cole. She took a look around the room, it was truly stinking but it was obvious that she had gotten used to it's irritating smell that she barely remembers how her room smelt like in her house. Her exotic perfumes and beautiful body lotions that always sat on her dressing table, it was difficult to believe that she would ever find her self in a disgusting environment like this living with zombies who would someday kill and eat them once they run out of human flesh and blood. Then she saw something lying under a black rag. She reached for it and held it up, her eyes brightened up, it was a phone battery. "Take a look at this Jerry" she said in excitement pulling Jerry by the shoulder.

Apparently, it was underground. I squatted down and removed the four corner metal cover. The opening underneath led to a flight of stairs that went further underground.

It would be impossible to discern it as a door if Blake hadn't opened it himself. I didn’t have a witty comeback for that because he wasn’t wrong. At the bottom of the stairs, Tim shoved another hidden door open, and we stumbled into a massive underground cavern. The air was damp, and faint streams of light filtered through cracks in the ceiling above, illuminating a wide stone bridge suspended over a deep, black abyss.

Then, beneath their feet, the ground shifted. Metal groaned quietly as a section of earth split open, revealing a hidden platform beneath. The faint hum of machinery filled the air as the concealed doors slid apart, exposing a dimly lit underground space.

This hall was free of side rooms and had a slight upward curve to it, before opening out into a level room the size of a barn.

The door creaked open and she dropped into the dark cellar, lit only by the cracks in the floor above. Then...silence. At first. Then chaos. A crash. A growl. The sound of bone snapping and claws scraping wood. She heard Zydian roar, a sound that didn’t belong in any human throat and another voice screaming, cut short. Mira pressed a hand to her mouth, trembling as dust rained from the beams above her. She couldn’t stay hidden. He was fighting for her. Mira grabbed the old fire poker from the wall, shoved open the basement hatch, and climbed up just in time to see a rogue wolf, massive, silver-eyed barrel toward Zydian’s unguarded back.

All these people scurrying around to their own destination made the journey to room 3254 quite the battle to get through the halls.
