MONTHS passed by. I thought that I will be able to enjoy my last year in high school but I didn’t, because Nathan keep on ignoring me. I even ask for Scott’s help but to no avail. I’m slowly losing against time since I knew that once we applied for college, there is a possibility that I won’t be able to see him again.

Opeoluwa was a sucker for novels and only Joel knew that. After being mocked countless times by Jessica and Grace about it, she decided to let everyone — except him — believe she had quit reading. Even in school, whenever anyone (aside their small clique) saw her with a novel, their eyes popped out of their sockets. She hated that. She hated the look they gave and the memory of it. It reminded her of whom she used to be: the clumsy girl who couldn't even tie her own shoelace. She despised that girl.

CHAPTER TWO FIRST YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL II My first class is Literature. Luckily, I’m the first person in class so I don’t have to worry about talking and exchanging greetings with other students. Instead, I take out my phone and open my favorite reading app, good novel, and began reading. I’m trying to emerge myself in my own little world but it seems that won’t be happening any time soon. Students begin filling the classroom noisily and talking about their summer vacations at pristine vacation spots.They all have designer bags and shoes and everything on them is screaming

For the first time, Cathedra had someone who didn't cringe every time she opened her mouth to speak. So this is what having a friend feels like, huh? Cathedra thought to herself. One lunch break, while waiting for Diane underneath the tree, Cathedra was scribbling a draft of her first novel in her notebook. The novel contained the scenes she saw in the storybook, back in her kindergarten days. Since that day at kindergarten, she didn't tell anyone what she saw in the storybooks anymore. The thought of seeing things that other people couldn't still terrified her but she tried hard not to think about it by avoiding any book she can see other than school books and textbooks.

My plan was simple: Live like a slacker until Travis became a rich, successful CEO. Then sit back and enjoy life as a pampered young lady. During my major course, I was hiding in the back row scrolling on my phone when the original Jennie’s best friend, Linda Lander, texted me and asked if I wanted to join a mixer party. That’s when I remembered. In the original novel, this was the scene where Nancy flirted with three high-quality male leads at a bar. It caused a ripple across the entire storyline.

I almost dropped my whole eye when I saw the very spacious dining hall. There were ten long chairs and a table there. On the side are 100 different dishes. "Let's get some foods first." Lit said and pulled me closer to the foods. My saliva almost dripped when I saw and inhaled the food. So fragrant! I got some food and after that we walked closer to the nearby table.
