I sat in the corner of the room, my fists clenched, watching every movement. The doctor spoke softly as he worked. “She’s strong,” he murmured. “She’ll heal.” As the doctor finished, I escorted him outside. “Thank you so much, Doc!” I said softly.

The sound of the door made me divert my eyes to it, and I watched a doctor with a smiling face walking in. "Young Luna is finally awake," he said as he began approaching me. "Good day, Luna," he greeted, and bowed, while I cautiously stared at him. "I'm Doctor Declan, and I'm here to check on you," he said when he reached my bed, but I didn't say anything and kept staring at him. "Could you please lie down, you're not supposed to sit now," he said calmly, and I slowly nodded my head, before lying down on the bed, but winced when I felt the same pain again.

Celeste took up her bags off the floor and waved at the doctor. "Thanks for saving my life and also for the early discharge." "You're soon to be Luna, you don't have to thank me, I'm just doing my job as the pack doctor." Luna? Celeste wanted to laugh at herself but smiled at him instead. The way he looked at me I don't know if it's with care or coldness . His eyes were a dark caramel. His hair was neat and coiled close and his shoulders were broad and he was taking up space in the room without doing anything to take up space and I caught myself looking longer than I meant to and looked away. "Luna, how are you feeling? Has anything improved?" The doctor asked, looking between me and his clipboard. I blinked. Luna. "Hold on." I sat up and my eyes went straight to the small blade sitting on the table beside the bed. My hand was on it before I finished the thought and then I was on my feet again pointing it at the doctor,who put both hands up immediately.

Maybe me too. “I’ll do everything I can to convince him,” Lucien's voice pulling me back again. “For now, the most important thing is your check-up.” I nodded, forcing a bitter smile as I lied, “I trust you. Thank you, Lucien.” My acting wasn’t terrible. Lucien seemed relieved. He turned to the doctor. “Cassius, I’ll leave her to you.” Dr. Cassius Sterling looked at me kindly. “No problem. I’ll stay with her through the whole process. With me here, Harrison won’t hurt her.”

“I don’t care if he fucking dies, wake him up. Have you forgotten your Luna is missing and he might have the information needed to save her?” The doctor frowned but did as I asked. “B-but Colt…” Kara said timidly. A very deep, threatening growl ran up my throat as I looked over at her. “Alpha Colt. Please.” “I have questions for you both. Don’t forget you aren’t innocent in this either.” My voice was so low and calm sounding that Kara was visibly shaking. Thankfully, she had the common sense to shut up and take a step away from me but closer to Gunther. “I’ll warn you doctor, I can wake him up but if the pressure raises, I’ll have to put him back under. You may have a few minutes at best.”
