He just couldn’t bring himself to accept he was going to lose his mate. “ No..” He uttered without even realizing it. “ I– I cannot lose her.. No.. I– I cannot afford to lose her!” He shook his head rapidly. “ Tell me it's not true.. It can't be true!” Dayna shook her head again. It was hard but she needed to tell him the truth at least. “ The effect of the rejection is finally taken its toll on her. It's surprising how she's managed to come this far. If it was some else, it would have been over a long time ago. I'm sorry Alpha but she might not make it.”

I mutter. His shoulders slump, and tears drop from his eyes. The smile on my face fades, and I lean closer. “Did you really think you would have Kaitlyn?” I mock him. “She rejected you. Your own father is begging for my forgiveness and acceptance. Your mother is struggling and blaming you for her deteriorated health. You have lost everything, Jesse Rider, everything!” I spit out. His skin goes ghostly, and his eyes darken as he gnaws his teeth. I get up from the seat and begin to walk towards him.

As more tears dropped from my eyes, I could feel the vein on my head pulsating, until I heard the rejection word left Horland's mouth. “I, Horland, cannot have a disgraceful thing like you as Imy mate, so I reject you! And I hope you have a better life in the afterlife,” his words left his mouth, one which pierced my depressed soul as more tears rolled down my eyes and my legs strangled each other.

His blue-green eyes stared into mine and I could see his anxiousness easily displaying on his expressions. “When you think of me rejecting you, how does it feel?” I asked him, gently pulling him closer towards me. His expression turned into a grimace as he placed a hand on my chest to stop me. He breathed in harshly and then, with a long sigh out, said, “it feels awful. Like I’m losing a part of myself and I hate it. I keep telling myself, I have to reject you. We shouldn’t… can’t be together, but…” he trailed off slowly.

He could see the saddest in his eyes, but also the acceptance as he nodded. "Thank-you Brandon." Jonathan knew it was true, he had felt in the way Brandon is looking at him. He had begged Brandon to stay with him once. Now it was too late. "I know thanks alot Brandon." His house was quiet when he arrived. Jonathan lay in his cold bed and sobbed for what he had lost. Give up on us like that. We always knew we would face challenges, but what we have is good and real. So forgive me if I can't walk away that easily! Brandon stood there, right in front of Jonathan, strong and tall, as if he weren't begging. As if there weren't tears streaming down his face.

“Very interesting.” He walked to the door and then stopped. “This is not over, Miss Morgan.” Then he left. The other investors stared at me. Some looked impressed. Some looked worried . But I did not care. I just gathered my things and walked out. My hands were shaking and my heart was pounding. But I did not let anyone see my discomfort. Zara was waiting in the car. “How did it go?” She asked. “He made an offer.” “And you refused?” “I refused.” Zara widened her eyes in shock. “Alpha Kael does not like being refused.”

My hand trembled as I gave him the phone back, my voice lost somewhere in the ache of everything I couldn’t say. He took it slowly, his jaw tight, but when he spoke, his tone was startlingly soft. “We’ll leave tomorrow.” I blinked, not sure I’d heard him right. He was bowing out? “There’s no point keeping you here when you’ve made it clear you don’t want me.” His throat worked as he swallowed, the words dragging out of him like shards of glass scrapping a hard surface. “Once we get back, I’ll accept the rejection. And I’ll be out of your life.”

I now know what to expect when he accepts my rejection. The feelings I had for him just moments ago are abruptly severed. I feel nothing but the hatred I've harbored for years. I will mourn the loss of my mate later, right now there are more important things to worry about. Micah staggers back to his feet and looks at me with a mixture of grief and betrayal. I feel nothing. "Accept my rejection, Micah." I say firmly and he opens his mouth as if to speak the words, but shakes his head and turns away from me. I'm momentarily shocked, until I start to follow him.

Sebastian begins, his tone sharp and businesslike, “have you considered our offer?” Stanley nods, taking a seat across from Sebastian. “I have,” he replies calmly. “And I’ve made my decision.” James turns, his face a mixture of anticipation and apprehension. Sebastian’s eyes narrow. “Well?” “I’m not interested,” Stanley states firmly. “I appreciate the offer, but Eloise and I have built something of our own, and I intend to see it through.” A silence hangs in the air, thick with tension. Sebastian’s face flushes with anger. “Do you understand what you’re turning down?” he hisses. “This isn’t just about business; it’s about legacy. Our legacy.”

Vincenzo is still doubled over by a tree. Stay back, my love. I need you safe. “Bram! You can have me! Bring Daphne and Viviana out now, and I will go willingly!” I yell in a broken voice. I’m saying the words, but they taste disgusting as they leave my mouth. The hurt in Vincenzo’s eyes deepens. I can see that he realizes why I rejected him. He shakes his head. “No! She’s mine!” he growls, as he crawls forward, fighting the pain of my rejection.
