He was an older man, his gray hair neatly combed, and his sharp eyes glinted with curiosity. “Luna,” he said, bowing slightly. “How can I assist you?” Fatima exchanged a glance with me before answering. “We’re looking for information about... creatures. Something that might explain what’s happening in the woods. Deformed humans, maybe monsters.” The librarian hummed thoughtfully, his fingers stroking his beard. “Perhaps you’re searching in the wrong direction,” he said after a moment.

A deafening crack echoed as the relic splintered, its energy dissipating into nothingness. The golems froze mid-stride, their forms crumbling into piles of inert stone. Velmont exhaled in relief and turned to make his way back to Gertrude. Meanwhile, in the library, Gertrude sat in the chair to catch her breath. Soon, a familiar figure emerged in the darkness, and she was forced to face off against her former student, Jacques. The wizard stood atop a staircase, his staff glowing with arcane runes. Books and scrolls floated around him, each imbued with deadly magic.

The young man wore glasses and had neatly styled comma hair that reminded Anna of a Korean actor. He was also a genius. It was skeletal and hunched, its ancient robes stiffened and saturated with the glowing silver dust. Its movements were dry and rapid, a soundless skittering that raised the hairs on Evangeline’s neck. Where its eyes should have been, there were only empty, bone-white sockets, yet they fixed instantly on the intruders. “A Wyrd Librarian,” Selene hissed, drawing a long, slender silver dagger. “They were scholars sworn to protect the archive. They look… petrified.”

The wizard and Owen were searching the library looking for the first magic book of dragon Kingdom and suddenly Zudan noticed that one of the librarians took a book and hide it under his clothe. Zudan move closer to him and asked the librarian to show him the book he hides right now, the librarian beg wizard Zudan to forgive him and said it was a lady that asked him to hide it. Zudan asked who was that lady but the librarian man said if he says it the person will kill him then Zudan knew that it was Lame but something looks suspicious about the librarian as if he was hiding something apart from what he said.

I shook my head at the pair of them. A couple of minutes later Greg Henderson came into the cell. “It’s all set, boss,” he said to Tommy and Tommy nodded. He turned to me. “I had him set up the library,” he said. “It’s soundproof and has wards in place so we know who goes in and out. I believe your witch girl can seal it fully once we are in there.” Smart, I thought. I had no idea that the library was warded, but it made sense as all the Divine Order journals that the pack had were in there.
