Everyone was just strange. One day, in between classes, I finally found some spare time to slip away to the library. For a few days, I'd been meaning to do some research on Moon Wolves, a topic that had piqued my interest since I arrived at college. I went through the shelves and pulled down dusty old tomes and flipping through their pages. I finally found the book. This was what I had been searching for, and a chance to get to know more about the mysteries of my world and the hidden truths beneath. I signed at the checkout before making my way back to my dorm, but my excitement was cut short by an unexpected encounter.

“You got a plan, boss?" Hazel laughed, the sound bouncing off the walls. “Sort of, kind of. I’m thinking of three tents. One for the stuff Mom wants to sell. You know, the ornaments, light, gift wrap, the big red velvet bows. I ordered tons of stuff a week ago when Mom told me about this. I jumped right on it. Mom’s got the Society group lined up to work the store, as she calls it. They’re going to be serving gingerbread, chocolate peppermint pretzel and hot mulled cider the way they used to do it at Morrison Farms. I must have told you about that wonderful place from my childhood. I hate it that Mr Morrison let the farm go to ruin. I have such nice memories of going out there with my father

The whispers started again and my focus reverted back to it. I had only been a few hours in and this book had taught me spells I never knew existed in my life. The baffling things were it felt like this book was made for me, an extension to my life. I had also found the ritual process and ingredients for the Alpha’s curse. It could have made me happy but there was a major problem. I was still engulfed in my thoughts when I suddenly saw Alpha Hansel standing before my table. I almost jumped out of fear from his predatory looks.

The grand library glowed with the soft amber light of floating lanterns and a roaring hearth fire that cast long, dancing shadows across towering shelves. Guests had retired for the evening after another lavish solstice supper, but the manor refused to sleep. Enchanted books rustled faintly on their own, pages turning as if reading scandalous secrets aloud. Elara slipped inside after midnight, telling herself she only wanted a quiet moment with a novel to calm her racing mind. In truth, her body burned.

My parents didn't think much of the new pet grooming business Jeannie and I had set up, but after I had lost everything because of Gabriel, this business had saved me. "As I was saying, I won't be able to make it for Christmas this year," Christmas had always been my favorite holiday and the fact that my ex and sister were ruining it for me this year was yet another reason to hate them. "Is this because of Gabriel? Do you still feel sore about that teeny issue?" She sighed. I scoffed, "Uh, of course not mum. I'm so over the fact that my baby sister barged into my wedding and married my groom. I love them and wish them all the best."

Corresponding to it's season, lately, Noel had been receiving many guests in the form of dwarves and scarecrows, most of them visiting the library to hand Noel pumpkins, instead of reading books. Even so, as an avid reader and the owner of the library, Noel was not offended or angry in the slightest, because he got to see the wonderful cultures of the spirits that were visiting him. Some celebration in some places started earlier in the season while some other went all out in the final month. Even though every kind of spirits have different celebration, they share some similar grand festivities such as Thanksgiving and Halloween. That night, nothing changed much in the library except for the

’ Clara asked. The Colfers looked at each other and shrugged, ‘Mostly, I think,’ John, his dad answered. 'Some of them are first editions, so the books are just there for decoration,’ he said, smiling. ‘So, Clara, my dear, Sebastian said you wanted to talk to us. What is this about?’ his mom pried. ‘Sam, let the girl sit and relax before you interrogate her,’ John scolded his wife.

I need a little help here. The map glows for a moment, points toward the bed, and then goes blank again. I walk over to the bed. I pull back the covers and look under the pillows, but nothing. I go to my knees and look under the bed. Beneath the bed, I see a dark brown and black amulet shining at me, waiting for me to take it home. There is also a set of eyeballs looking at me.
