Not yet. I turned onto my side, eyes landing on my nightstand. The book I’d finished last two weeks still sat there—Haunting Adeline. It had been a ride, to say the least. Dark, twisted, and completely unhinged. I grabbed the book and traced the cover absentmindedly, my mind still spinning from the way it had ended. And Zade? God. That man was insane, but in the best way. I couldn't even count how many times I had to pause and process the things he said.

Of simpler times with my family, now lost to me forever. Roman notices my sleeplessness and pulls me gently into his arms. "You're safe, little moon," he murmurs against my hair. "Sleep now." Whether it's his calming scent or the security of his embrace, I find myself relaxing into him. My walls lowered just this once as I drift to sleep cradled against his broad chest. The next day we arrive at Red Creed's impressive stronghold. Indeed, everything about the Pack is on an imposing scale from the soaring granite walls to the small army of guards stationed at every entrance of the estate.

Feeling amazed that the Alpha will read something like this, especially knowing that most wolves hate vampires for its history. As Brianna began to slowly crouch and check more, finding other books that are similar to Twilight, like vampire club, vampire moon, and other things, suddenly Brianna felt a sudden wind behind her. ‘A wind?’ she muttered, automatically turning around to find no source as the room had no window. There’s just an old bookcase with a creepy vibe behind her.

Caitlin dove into the book, scanning through, turning the pages as fast as she could, looking for any mention of vampires, of how to heal or cure one, how to bring one back to normal life. As she began to read, she suddenly slowed down. She went back and read it again. Then again. Her heart started beating with hope. She could tell right away that this book was very different than the others. This, of all the books, felt the most real to her, the most scholarly, the most impartial. It wasn’t filled with hyperbole and myth and wild stories told by grandmothers. This one was written, paradoxically, by a bishop, in the 16th century. The fresh, vibrant space made it easier for me to fall asleep. This book room had many precious books that not everyone had the opportunity to read. Most were books written by werewolves, but there were also many masterpieces of mankind. I had only read two books, both by werewolves. From those two books I knew that werewolves' knowledge was not inferior to humans at all.

"Good thing your number will never be called — you're too ugly." "Yes, Mother." I wanted to scream in outrage. She was gorgeous! Even in the dream, I could see the purity of the blood, taste the goodness on my lips. A house appeared in the distance. It was poorly lit. The shutters were falling from the windows, and the porch steps had seen better days. The foundation crumbled beneath the heaviness of the home, making it appear depressing. I took the steps two at a time and found myself in Genesis's room. She had books everywhere. Books about vampires, werewolves, and sirens. Then finally, Dark Ones.

Surprisingly, I don't find the idea disturbing. Feeling boredom as it sets in quickly, I make my way over to the bookshelf. I start to peruse the titles and am shocked at what I find. I see the House of Night Series, The Twilight Series, Forbidden Knowledge, Harry Potter Trilogy, and various books on Military Protocols all with black covers. The books are all in good condition too. Not interested in any of the military books I reach for the first book in the House of Night Series. As I take the book over to the couch to settle in, the door swings open.
