Chapter 17 — Ripples in the Pack Lyra’s POV The aftermath of last night hung over the Blackthorn compound like a storm cloud, heavy and restless. Every hallway, every corner, every shadow seemed to watch me, whispering. Moon-marked… dangerous… survivor… The words didn’t leave my mind, and neither did the taste of what I’d done. I hadn’t meant to kill him—at least not in the conscious sense—but my wolf had acted. The instincts I’d tried to ignore had taken over, sharp and swift and absolute. And now everyone knew.

She stood tall beside me, her eyes glowing softly, her presence stronger than I had ever felt before. I pressed my palm against the cave floor, and to my shock, the stone beneath my hand warmed in response. Veins of silver light pulsed briefly, then faded. I yanked my hand back, staring at it as if it didn’t belong to me. “No…” My breath came fast. “This isn’t possible.” I was an omega. I was supposed to be nothing. And yet... Far away, beyond the pack borders, I felt it. A sharp, disorienting pull.

Mason asks, a little bit taken aback, as he just realizes what is happening. Zoey opens her eyes and gives me a straight gaze as she says. “I, Zoey Carter, the Beta Blood of the Crescent Moon Pack. reject you Alpha Tristan Mayer.
