Marriage First, Mate Second
Hope tells me gently, “And when we have more time, I will tell you what I know about the stone. Just trust me for now.”
“I trust you with my life,” I tell her, giving her a hug, “And I know that you can do this.”
“I thank you,” Hope replies, taking my hands in hers, “But it is we who are going to do this, together. And it is going to work. I promise.”
I do trust Hope with my life. She has already saved mine. I just pray to the Goddess that she is right. I need my friend and her child to be ok.
