When I got to the hidden library, I scanned through the shelves and took three books that were about history and ancient creators, put them in my bag and headed for the door. But just as I was about to place my hand on the knob, a crash echoed through the room. My heart leaped into my stomach the same time i turned around and the sight i saw before me made mew freeze to my bones./ It took everything, every single thing in me, to not scream and yell…perhaps it was because I did not want to draw unnecessary attention from outside, or maybe I was just too scared to move a muscle let alone screaming. I was sure. I sighed and flipped it open again, running my fingers across the stiff old pages. The writing inside was tiny, neat, and definitely older than anything I had ever seen in Father’s library. Each chapter had illustrations of different beasts, creatures I’d only heard whispers of. Gargoyles, gnomes that were alive, serpent women and even sirens. None of these existed though… or did they? I could feel my head throbbing from an oncoming headache so I just shut the book and stared at the ceiling of my room.

I Said, Leaving Once in the library, I went to get a book on behavioral psychology and started reading it on the spot. An hour later, as I was lost in my thoughts, I started thinking about Nate again. About his hand gripping my arm and him pleading with me not to say anything... The kind of beasts humans thought were myths, but in reality, they were all hidden in plain sight. I kept turning the pages like a mad man but couldn't find the creature. Most books mentioned vampires and different breeds of werewolves. There were a few sections about mermaids and faeries. Not what I was looking for. I paused as I flipped through the last few pages. There was a picture. A giant beast with a human face and spiderlike features. Bingo... [That thing will have us for breakfast. You might as well change your name and move to Neverland.]

I asked her curiously as I sat comfortably on her couch and the three of them sat on the big one adjacent to mine. "Well, I believe that there's nothing to be scared of. The ghosts, vampires, witches, and werewolves are just in the books. Right? Fiction. Not real." My oblivious girlfriend explained, and that made the three of us, supermarket beings, look at each other. If you just knew, Pryce. None of us here is purely human. "Uh, yeah, yeah. After stashing the remaining books on a side table, I climbed back up to the third floor and eased into the hall. The corridor was empty and quiet except for… Was that music?

Browsing for books casually, one of the books caught my eyes. It was titled “The ancient Realms” I took the book from the shelf and I opened it, I was surprised by its contents. It's a book about ancient creatures like that, Vampires, werewolves, goblins and other creatures and their domain. “Nice choice of books,” I was startled by the voice, with the book almost falling from my hands. I turned around to look at the owner of the voice, I saw a woman at a distance cleaning a crystal marble and smiling.
