Lady Tatya lounged about in her chambers, reading a horror novel. This was one of her favorite genres. She loved the thrills, the twists, the terrifying reality that burst through the pages. But most of all, she loved the creativity. So many ways to die, so many ways to make someone fall on their own sword. Tatya turned the page with such vigor, she almost ripped it. Yes, this was the moment in the story where the characters were cornered and trapped by the monster, the monster that had a million ways to torture them. Skinning, drowning, beheading… all wonderful ways to cause someone’s death.

It was because my readers had become so attached to my novels that they started to ship my characters, and they have learned to absolutely love and follow the author behind my books. But now, every single thing changed abruptly. My romance novel suddenly turned into a gruesome horror, which I am not good at. But we were all so astonished once I have submitted the novel-turned-horror-story, as I was able to make the hairs on their skin stand and sent chills down to their spine, which means it was perfect. But that was not what I was known for. I became popular for romantic genres, so it was never a perfect idea to suddenly make the transition into something different and unnerving.

A living hell on earth was worse than any horror game. When humans start killing each other, they were more terrifying than monsters. ... It’s one of my favorite novels.” She slapped herself across the forehead. “Dainty! We should not read novels like these. I assumed you were interested in romantic novels, so I let you read books, and then I’ll know that you’re reading about terror and murder novels?!” My mouth was closed. What can I do if I’m not a fan of romance novels? Horror, mystery, and psychological stories are my favorite, and not romance. When I read a romantic novel, my whole body convulses. They simply do not appeal to me.
