Jason muttered under his breath but I chose to act like I didn't hear him. Sameer walks to us after parking the car. He looks over at Harsh mumbles "Hi" and Harsh nods at him in acknowledgment. I can see the cold air between them. "So what movie are we going to watch?" Sameer asked breaking the silence. "Conjuring 2" replies Harsh. "What?" Ryan shouted and then laughs looking at my already pale face. I didn't think Harsh will chose a horror movie. I should have warned him. "What's wrong?" Dia asked with knitted eyebrows.

I'm trying to make myself as small as possible, maybe it will go away this way. I just want it to stop, I need it to stop. I won't let Aurora turn me into a monster and I most certainly will not let her use me to hurt Sky. I would rather die than let any demon feed on him, it's my worst fear and I will do anything to keep it from happening. I keep my eyes and ears closed, in the hopes of blocking things out. The error tone sounded almost like mockery. I clenched my fists, feeling frustration and fear twist together in my chest. Everything had worked perfectly when I registered my fingerprints in the admin department. Why did it fail the moment I reached the clock-in machine? Was I really about to relive the same nightmare as my last life? While I stood there frozen, several coworkers glanced over. A few even stepped forward kindly, asking if I needed help. As I watched them gather, an idea formed in my mind. I apologized timidly. "I am the new hire, Emma Lane. I'm sorry to bother you, but the fingerprint scanner just won't recognize me."

I felt him spill inside me, hot and thick, while he held me steady so I would not fall. We stayed like that for a long moment, both breathing hard. Then he pulled out slowly and helped me stand. We cleaned up as fast as we could with the tissues on the nightstand and put our clothes back on. The afterglow still hung between us, warm and heavy, even while the fear waited right outside the door. Austin’s earpiece crackled. A voice came through, urgent and sharp. “Front gate. One SUV just forced through. Second one is following. They are on the property.” Austin’s eyes met mine in the dark. His hand reached for the gun again.

He remembered how much he cried for Adam to untie him, to leave him, to send him back to Stephen. Speaking of Stephen. Another wave of shock trembled passed his body. He saw Stephen was thrown on the ground. He was hurt. He was choked. And then he bit Adam. His eyes turned yellow. His fangs elongated. And he killed Adam?
