Chapter 45: Nightmares Girl Night came faster than expected. I have been curled in my room reading different novels, which had kept me busy most of the time. The stories were a good distraction from everything happening around me. Suddenly, a heavy wind blew so loudly, hitting against my large window with so much force I thought it might break. I suddenly looked upwards, towards the window, and my heart froze completely. I saw someone so familiar, their hair looked rough and wild, like something that came straight out from a horror movie and their eyes looked so wild, like only the white part of their eyes was visible, rolled back in a way that made my stomach turn.

I add, "Especially your favorite horror stories." So for the rest of the period Seymour tells me about an assortment of authors and books he has read. I am delighted to learn that Dracula is his all-time favorite story. I miss the bull's-eye a few times on purpose, but I don't know if I fool Seymour. He never takes his eyes off me. The next period I am off to biology. Ray sits in the back at a lab table. I waste no time. I walk straight back and sit beside him. He raises an eyebrow as if to say that someone else has that seat, but then seems to change his mind.

Enjoying the quiet, I pulled out my phone to read a few chapters of my latest favorite romance novel while grabbing my blanket and wrapping it around me. Sipping on hot cocoa, I had put the recliner back and my feet up before finishing reading a few more chapters. As I sat there, I heard something strange and then felt like someone was in the room with me, staring at me from behind me. A shiver ran up my spine and the fine hairs on the back of my neck raised before I got this creepy feeling that if I looked behind me, I would see a pair of eyes staring right next to my head.
