“Then why are you so hesitant to tell me?” Kate looked away from his deep brown eyes that she thought was going to swallow her any minute from now as she thought of an excuse to make. “I was thinking of a pet I had back home” The pet she was talking about was her cute white furry dog, fluffy. Whenever things was hard for her back there at the club, fluffy would always come and comfort her rubbing her head against the length of her legs. This was the first time since she’d escaped that she thought back to that hell hole she’d ran away from. Now that she thought about it, John was so much like fluffy.

“I just know that the house is too empty when you aren’t there with me.” The house. I repeat silently, my heart squeezing painfully. So, it was just the house you wanted to fill and not that void in your heart that my mother left. “You should get a pet then.” My voice comes out much harsher than I mean it to be, but I’m angry. I’m angry that he keeps confusing me. He keeps making me think that I’m not alone in my need for him. He keeps making me hope that even if we share my mothers heart and memory we can somehow manage to be together like I always dreamed.

His head was the size of a damn truck wheel, or something to that magnitude and his teeth were long and angry but he never bared them to me. No wonder people ran when they saw me walking on the side walk and no wonder my tiny car whined and shrunk to the ground whenever Romeo got into it. He was about the size of grizzly bear, maybe even a bit bigger, "I've got to find out what you are, Romeo," I said to him, his yellow eyes not straying from mine, "maybe even take you to your home. I don't think you're meant to be a pet, or if you are, then I should at least know what you really are."

His mind wet wild. He ate the pellets then approached the dog in the crate. “Wait, aren’t you -” “Yes, I am Pete, Chunky, the Chow Chow is my mother.” He said before Polly could finish his sentence. “And you are Polly, right?” “You remember me?… I never knew you know my name.” “I knew it was you ‘cause I notice that leg.” Pete pointing to Polly’s left leg with his snout. “Do you, ahhhm… do you…” Polly couldn’t contain his excitement. He had so many questions in his mind that he did not know which one to ask first.

As for 'Pete's Pet Rescue' it's the closest pet store we can get to by foot. Pete Avery the store owner opens the door for us. A motion sensory signals for the bell to go off, as we enter the store. Pete has been smoking on his break again. I can see the ashes resting in his salt and pepper-looking pirate beard. I am pretty sure he was a pirate in his past life, no one can convince me otherwise. "What pet would you like to buy today," Pete asks as his nostril flare? He isn't a nice man, which supports my animal mistreatment theory.

ADAMS POV: “Please”her small body trembling against my hold. I've never seen anything or anyone more beautiful as my pet.Tears begin to feel her eyes,they're gorgeous. “You should have known the consequences before embarking on your stupid plan”I moved my hand around her neck, restricting air. I roughly released her neck. “I..I..I am sorry..”she stuttered. Mustering all the energy she could,Lisa pushed me and tried to run to the door.

Not anymore. A small, gray mouse crouched in the corner of the room. Its fur was matted, eyes dark and fearful. Reggie grabbed an old shoebox to sweep it into. Family photos tumbled out and wisped onto the carpet. She studied those faces for a beat and then stepped over them. Her giant shadow fell across the mouse.

I sat her in the back and made Adam sit in the back to keep an eye on her through the drive back home. We took her to our home, we made it home, I parked the car in the garage and got out, Adam picked her up and took her out of the car, we got inside the house and shared a look. Someone needs to wash her, Adam was a master pet, Mouse is a dom, and I'm a daddy, all of us know what our classification is. "I think Rocco should do it" Mouse says, I look at him with a glare, why me? "You're the daddy between us, you're used to washing littles" he says, I washed littles before, I had few before, but none of them worked for me, if she's Mia, she's our sister.

There’s a soft scratching at my door. I pull the door open and see Beta Pete standing before me, holding – of course – the little puppy. “I’m sorry, ma’am,” he says, “he just ran up on the porch and started scratching at your door before I could stop him.” “No, it’s fine, Pete,” I say, looking at the sad, scared little puppy, with his big brown eyes. “I’ll take him back to the big house,” Pete says, turning. “No,” I say, sighing and reaching out my hands. “Give him here. He misses his mother, and he’s not going to get anything close to that over in that madhouse.”
