How Long Should Novel Chapters Be Novels & Stories

Hello guys. So I've seen some complaints about me updating only once a day and I just want to clarify something. I write very long chapters. Some of my chapters can go up to 2800 words. And while other authors would rather divide that word count into two, I chose to publish it at once because of the cost of chapters on the app nowadays.

Hi, guys! I just want to leave this note before I locked any chapters. You might start wondering why some chapters will have like part I, part II and so on. It's just that my word count every chapter cannot be shorter than 2000 word count so I have to divide it in order for you to be able to pay it in lesser coins. I am trying to be consistent on my posts for you guys so we can really get into the good stuff! P.s I do not choose the amount the chapters cost, so if they are pricy I apologize for that too but I try to keep my chapters around 2k words but if I need to for my readers I can try to break them up. But before him, he had some other things to be taken care of, other things like, Bree Lively. ______________________________________ Hey guys, I wanted to clear one thing, I don't know why you guys think the chapters are short when I have always written the same amount of words. My chapters had always been from 1500 words to 2500 words, and sometimes I write longer when i feel like it's needed to be written longer in a chapter otherwise my minimum words had always been 1500 words and then go on. Whenever I write short chapter like shorter than 1500 words I always mention in my author note and apologise for it, but last chapter was 1600 words and this one is 2100 words.

This has been irritating me for a few days. To the people complaining about how the chapters are broken up, this is not a decision I made myself. I'm doing what I was told to do. GN wants chapters under 1k words to make them easier to purchase. Especially with bonus coins. My chapters tend to be 3-4k words so I HAVE to break them up. The first few chapters that are free I kept at their regular length because they are free, but the chapters starting from where it goes to PTR I was told to make shorter. There are other option on where to read my books if the chapter breaks are that much of an issue.... Leaving negative reviews for something so silly and out of my hands is unfair and really pet

Rating it poorly because of what you don’t even know is cruel and malicious. I am sad and angry. I am a reader as much as I am a writer and I have read books with short chapters and understood what short chapters meant. Most times my chapter ends at 2.5k or 3k words, but because I know the coin consumption would be higher, I split the chapter into 2. I don’t like it but I have to understand and be considerate. I am taking this as an outlet to let you know sometimes we do what we do to make it easier for every reader. Getting rated poorly because of it is cruel. I barely get many reviews on the front page of the book so a review this poor would set me back so far.
