How To Find Books At The Library Novels & Stories

“How will I get the books I want? They are so many I might even get exhausted from finding the ones I want.” The guard smiled. “The library is automatic, just say the name of the book you want and it would push it out. First, you have to set the robot in here.” The guard then gestured to another small door between two shelves on the right side that Agnella hadn't taken note of. “You can set up the robot in that room.” The man told her and she nodded excitedly. Agnella went into the room, it looked like a computer room. It had a chair, and a space with many screens as well.

The State library system probably hadn't been upgraded since her Dad had been in school and it often sent students on wild goose chases for books that had been removed weeks before, or that were in a different place entirely, or that no longer existed at all. Lexi took the stairs, all four flights, and felt great for doing so. At each level, the library got emptier. Up on five, it was like a deserted warehouse. Just stacks and shelves of books and no one else. The only thing that gathered here was dust. “Follow me.” Rae stands up and so does Nathan and both follow me as I head towards the library. When we enter the library I tell Rae “Wait here for a moment.” and make my way up one of the staircases searching a nearby shelf. My fingers run across the spines of books until I found it. Pulling out the book I make my way down to Rae handing it to her.

If the internet doesn’t have it, then history books might, I say to myself. I get up quickly, my heart racing as I pull on my jacket and head out the door. I make my way to the nearest library, hoping to find the answers I need. The library is quiet, with the smell of old books filling the air. I move through the aisles, scanning every book on folklore, creatures, myths. But the deeper I search, the more things don’t add up. Shelves are missing books, and some books I find look like pages have been ripped out. The more I dig, the more it feels like someone is hiding something and trying to erase it from history. My heart sinks as I search through every nook and cranny, but there’s nothing. N

Stifling a groan, I made my way toward one of the sections, hoping that I was heading in the right direction, but I didn’t really have a lot of confidence in myself. I was looking for information about my mother, which meant I needed to focus on the year she attended this school. There were some sections with different years listed and when I found the years that corresponded with my mother’s attendance, I plucked a few books off the shelf, unsure if these would help or not… but at least it was a start. I wasn’t even sure if this was the exact year I was looking for. I navigated through the labyrinth of the library until I approached another section that caught my attention.

Still, if they hadn’t managed to get any information out of him this long, then I highly doubted he was ever going to talk. Rather than focus on the pale-haired God haunting my lady parts, I began to scour the library in search of information. “Give me everything you’ve got on the Gods.” Books slid off their shelves, their pages flapping wildly as they took to the air. A tornado of them surrounded me, rustling my hair around my shoulders. One at a time, they fluttered down onto the tables, landing in a neat stack. CRACK!

Everything was quiet. Layla let out a breath. She had needed this. Setting her backpack and her cup on one of the empty tables, Layla pulled out her phone to find the list of books she would need to finish her studies. After a quick visit to the front desk to find the locations of the books, Layla set off to the heart of the library by skipping the elevator and taking a set of iron stairs up to the second floor. On the second floor were rows of books that fit snugly from one end of the floor to the other. Layla scanned her list once again before making her way through the aisles to find what she would need.

Despite all the craziness, my office and ward are starting to feel… homey? Gawd I sound like a dope, even to me. “Excuse me, could you help me with something?” I asked the nurse at the hospital’s front desk, leaning in slightly. The hospital had quieted down with the day, but my nerves were anything but calm. The nurse glanced up, blinking with curiosity. “Sure, what do you need?” “I’m looking for the pack’s library,” I queried. “The library’s not far. You’ll head out through the main road, walk about ten minutes past the packhouse, and you’ll see the main path into town. Library’s right off the square.”

At this point, I was literally walking on eggshells around everyone except Ivy and Lance. I entered the library which was quiet as usual. Walking down the aisle of the shelves in the library, I got to a particular section then I searched through it for a book. After searching for some time, I finally found the book I was looking for. Grabbing it from the shelf, I blew the dust away from the cover. It was an ancient werewolf book, which I think was going to help me. I walked to an empty table and sat in a chair. Ivy had classes right now, but I did not, so I decided to do a little research.

As expected, Billie helped me gain entrance and I made a mental note to get my school ID later on. The library was unusually packed, which made it a lot more difficult to find an empty portion. Billie led us deeper into the library until there were only a handful of people. "I'll drop our things here and get to finding books about vampire history," Billie said and left. I took a seat around, pulling one for Billie as I waited for her to make an appearance. She returned with a pile of books. "I think we can begin our research here," she said, dropping the dusty books on the table.
