I wake up to the sun creeping in through the thin curtains, I look beside me to see Amelia moving around with Anthony fast asleep next to her. I get up walking to the window, I could fully make out the street now this could be our chance. I slip my shoes on picking Amelia up wrapping her in the pink blanket, I take one more look at sleeping Anthony before walking out the bedroom door and down the stairs.

Even though her words were dishonest, her hands and eyes lingered longingly on the blanket. “Oden’s father, tell the children.” She turned to ask John to talk the kids out of their plan… this was too pricey for their humble existence. John had a silly grin. He now understood what they meant before. Oden’s lips curled up as he saw through the farce. She waved over the nearest shop assistant who was arranging clothes on a rack. “How may I help you?” the girl asked when she came over. Ruby gestured at the clothes on display. “We can’t seem to find what we’re looking for.” “Perhaps I can help then. What exactly do you need?” “Clothes for a costume party,” Ruby explained, “We are going as Narcissa Malfoy and Bellatrix Lestrange.” The attendant smiled. “Oh, Harry Potter fans, I believe?” “You can say that again."

“You will now.” Words. So simple. From someone who understood why. I nodded, though it took several heartbeats for her meaning to truly sink home. She reached for the bedroll again, shuffling aside a pile of transmutation notes and retrieving something from underneath. A folded knit scarf. Black and red. Thick wool weave. Emberbound colors.
