The screens flickered to life, and someone started circulating with drinks. Chloe grabbed one, her phone buzzing as she stepped back into the room. Hunter’s name flashed on the screen. She hesitated, then answered, his face appearing before her. "Hunter," she breathed, her voice barely above a whisper. "Chloe," he replied, his gaze avoiding hers.

The darkness disappeared. The white space became bright. The Hunger transformed. Its monstrous body dissolved. What remained was a small child. A frightened little girl. She looked no older than six. Emily stared. "She's just a child." The First Mother nodded. "The Hunger was born from fear." Emily knelt. The child looked at her. "Are you going to hurt me?" Emily shook her head. "No." "Why?" "Because I know what it's like to be afraid." The child slowly reached for her hand.

“Greggory! I want all my men inside” “Alpha, we can’t leave you” “Go now!” Greggory bowed and organized the men to move back into the pack’s borders. Arachne laughed, the ring sounding through the trees an omen of misery and desolation. "I see you finally became the Alpha you wanted to become. If you’re sure this is what you want to do, then I’d like to announce-" she breathed. "The games have begun."

After netting a couple of kills early, you should be able to snowball pretty hard. “ Both teams have locked their champions, it is now times for us to see what kind of game they will offer us,” I smirk as it goes according to plan. Let's do this. HAYDEN'S POV I unconsciously look at the huge screen above the stage where the match was being viewed when the first match has finally started. Both teams have gone through their respective lanes. Similar to how the game starts, players are just farming and clearing the lanes. “ Starting game are really the boring moment.” Christian said surprisingly with a chips on his hand. “Ready.” Before I can protest, he grabs my arm and we walk through the door, greeted by the great scenery of the school’s arena. The students in their bleachers cheer loudly and vibrantly, all excited about the games about to begin. It’s a full-on hunger game shit right now. Adrenaline pumps through me with excitement. I don’t know what the heck I’m doing here but damn it. “You see, everyone’s too focused on the field to bother about what happened days ago.”

The scent of power and politics is more potent in the hall than anywhere else I have ever been to, it is the first thing I notice the very moment I step in. The element games are a test of skill and dominance, but I know I am about to witness a battlefield of a different kind. The lavish gala that marks the beginning of the games.
