JAMES POV We burst through the front door and were confronted. I skidded to a stop. “Jacob Sawyer,” I acknowledged the Hunter in front of me. He looked surprised to see me. “James Adler. I didn’t know you consorted with this sort.” He stood in front of me, looking relaxed, but I knew better. This Hunter has been credited with thousands of kills of my kind. He was strong and ruthless, and he had a serious hatred for anything supernatural, though he wasn’t above using them if they would help meet his needs.

I could sense the tension in the room, but Hunter appeared calm and composed. Hunter is a very handsome man with a tall and masculine build, blue eyes, and jet-black hair. He is a piece of art in himself, and I don't blame the girls who find him attractive enough to fight over him. But despite his good looks, Hunter is a very loyal and trustworthy person. He has always believed in the mate bond and is always against male wolves who mess around in our pack. So, I don't believe he could mess around with Melissa.

We stay outside for few more hours, just talking and getting to know each other.

I take a step, focusing on getting to the pack house where my fate will be decided, when I feel someone cock a gun behind me. “Halt!” My heart flips. That voice. It isn’t the first I was expecting to hear. A thick lump gathers in my throat, and my hands raise above my head as he commanded. I close my eyes as his footsteps begin to echo behind me, making my pulse race erratically. He stands before me, and I raise my head and meet his smoky green eyes. Hunter. The son of Alpha Moon’s third Luna. The strong warrior and biker who handles the pack’s security affairs.

Devi then pounded him with a final blow to the head and watched as he fell face flat on Dumi’s body.
