The Blood Ridge Pack. I have read a lot about them from the Hunters’ library, but it isn’t the same thing as being near them. As being in the same room as them. Their energy…there is something about it that makes me halt in the middle of the space. “Get out of the way,” someone screams. I move just in time before I get run over by a drunk college kid in roller skates. His laughter travels down the hallway with him, and I move in that direction. Searching for something.

The police had to get involved, there were two police cars out the front of the diner. Ducking under the police tape, Damien stepped into his diner, he was feared by everyone, humans, wolves and vampires alike, he was known as the Blood Alpha and that was not just because Blood is his surname. Her sent hit him sending him into a short sense of euphoria, he had finally found her his mate after, eighteen years of searching he had finally found her.

Hunter asked, and the two ignored him. "What are you reading exactly? Is it romance? Action?" Edgar inquired. Joel answered after a yawn. "Sport anime, Haikyuu. I finished it." Then he yawned again. Yawn is something contagious. Just seeing him yawning made Edgar and Hunter did the same. “A werewolf reading human’s sport anime, that’s very odd,” Edgar laughed. “It will be more funny if a werewolf is reading romantic story,” Hunter added. As soon as he said that, the person standing in front of the line dropped a book.

I know you heard me. 'Yes, I heard it.' I said to him. 'I am now reading the book I got from the restricted section of the library. There is something about this book, titled The 12 Sinners: The Demon's Souls. I think there is something here we can use to defeat them. Who knows, I will start here. Just enjoy them first, dude.' I heard Hunter's voice in my head. He is talking to me. I nodded my head even though he couldn't see me.

345 (I forgot to add the TRIGGER Warning in the previous chap. Some readers may find this chapter disturbing. Readers discretion advised!) Claire's back went rigid. Hunter's left side of the shirt was gruesomely drenched with blood, which she knew was his own; his face was gray from concrete dust and he was holding a girl who was all red. Her frock was in tatters, her blonde hair was a dirty red. Hunter looked down to her face and his eyes widened.

Her eyes fell on a book with a black cover, the gold letters reading: “The Art of Breaking Chains.” She pulled it free, curiosity winning, and curled into his leather chair. The chair was far too big for her, swallowing her small frame, but she felt oddly safe in it. Before she realized, her eyelids grew heavy. The book slipped onto her lap as she drifted into sleep. Hunter returned late, his mood thunderous after the ring, after Geret. His mind was sharp, his body burning with violence he hadn’t been able to unleash fully. But the instant he stepped into the quiet house, he sought her.

Let him take that promise however he will. Hunter smooths one thumb over my lower lip considering, hunger kindling in his hooded eyes. "Perhaps you do at that..." His face lowers towards mine unhurriedly. I let my eyes fall closed, victory singing in my veins. The fox comes to me willingly in the end.

I roll, kick, and slash, fighting off the werewolves that come at me anew from every side. I roll to my feet and twist to the right, slashing another werewolf across the face. He jumps back, howling in pain, blood pouring from his cheek. I turn to face all of them, slashing with my claws, screaming as loud as I can. But now they can see the darkness in my eyes. The death. And none dare come close. One by one, they all retreat. As the blood pulses in my veins, I feel strong, fast, powerful. I slowly come back to my senses. I am covered in blood. Warm, running over my paws. I lick some of it off my fur. It tastes like metal, like rust. It makes me feel strong, like nothing can hurt me.

Hunter The ceremony is chaos. Despite so many of the guests fleeing, many are injured. I frantically search for Pax, my eyes settling on his limp form at the bottom of the cannon. Fuck, I jump down after him because that’s what he would do for me. I find his body laying at an odd angle thankfully he didn’t fall the entire way to the bottom or I may not have found him through the darkness. His head is caked in blood, a deep gash oozing down his face. His arms and body are covered in cuts, some so deep that bone is visible. He is also out cold.

I indicated the chair on the opposite side of my desk. “My king, thank you for seeing me,” he said. “Drop the formalities please, Earl,” I said. “It’s just you and me in here.” He nodded. “Thanks, Wyatt. I see you saw the file on the girl.” “Yeah, who is she?” I asked, putting the picture down. I opened the file looking for another photo of her. “She’s a werewolf hunter. Jones hired her to come after you and the rest of the pack.”
