Breaking Free from the Cage

Breaking Free from the Cage

While I waited to board the plane at the airport, Jay called. I declined the call immediately, removed the SIM card from my phone and threw it away. From now on, I would live my own life. The plane landed in the icy winds of Usmana. I wrapped my coat tighter and looked toward the arrivals area where Leeya stood waving. "You're finally here!" she exclaimed. She ran over and gave me a big hug, nearly squeezing the breath out of me. "Congratulations on finally being free!"

Shadows of a Journalist

Shadows of a Journalist

But as days blurred into nights, Lena’s ears sharpened, tuning into the fragile threads woven through the darkness. Rebellion. A word breathed softly like a secret prayer. The voices spoke not only of fear but of hope - of those daring to rise against the shadows cast by Jeremy’s iron grip. She sat upright, heart quickening, straining to catch more. Names - Selene. Caleb. Words that meant more than just figures on a fractured battlefield. Freedom. Though trapped beneath stone and silence, Lena’s spirit flickered brighter. Each whispered hope was a lifeline, a thread linking her captivity to a future where walls could be broken, chains cast off.

A Lesson in Independence

A Lesson in Independence

I still had that red handprint on my swollen face from the slap two days prior. I didn't have any money to buy tools, so I had to dig his final resting place for 24 hours using my bare hands, which were now still trembling with dirt filling the cracks beneath my nails. I had also lost one shoe somewhere along the way, and my bare left foot was completely numb from the cold.

Claimed By My Stepbrother

Claimed By My Stepbrother

he told me, “and they’re on their way here.” My chest loosened at that. Relief. Real relief. I opened my mouth to say something, but then— Thud. Thud. Thud. The sound rolled across the village like thunder. My head whipped up. Drums. Deep, rhythmic, ancient drums that made the ground hum beneath us. I froze. Every part of me stiffened like my body instinctively knew something I didn’t. “What’s that?” I whispered, even though I wasn’t sure I wanted the answer.

HIS REJECTION, ANOTHER'S CLAIM,MY TWINS,MY POWER

HIS REJECTION, ANOTHER'S CLAIM,MY TWINS,MY POWER

War Drums The drums began at dawn. Not the kind made of hide and wood, but the kind that thundered in the blood — distant, relentless, impossible to ignore. War was coming. I stood at the edge of the Moonborn camp as the sun crested the treeline, its light cutting through the mist like a blade. Smoke from last night’s fires still clung to the air, carrying the scent of ash, sweat, and fear. The Council had made its decision.

Chasing Liberty

Chasing Liberty

“He will understand one day. War always demands a high price. That is why it takes special kinds of people to win them” “I understand that now, but I am scared” “Who isn’t? The thing is liberty to make a change you have to make a move even when it terrifies you” “What happens if I have to lose everything to win this?” “Don’t think about things that are not happening yet”

FORCED TO HAVE THE ALPHA’S BABY

FORCED TO HAVE THE ALPHA’S BABY

Celine The drums woke me. Not a distant thud but a slow, hard pounding that rolled through the stone and vibrated my teeth. For a second I lay there and let the sound find me, metal ringing, the slap of boots, a shout breaking into a high note. It was close enough that I could tell the difference between a sword strike and a spear catching leather. It should have been noise, background. Instead my skin tightened like a wire. The world turned to fight when drums started. I knew the routes, which gates would open, where men would gather. I knew enough to be afraid.

MAFIA'S NOT SO INNOCENT GIRL

MAFIA'S NOT SO INNOCENT GIRL

In this particular photo, he just looks like coming out of the gym as his sweets are perfectly captured by the camera. I came out of the trance when I heard the high-pitched sound of the drums. I can hear that the sound is coming from another partition which is on the right side and that partition is also made up of bulbs. I took the large strides as the music coming from the drums attracted me. Till now I didn't know that drums can also fascinate me. My legs froze when I saw a half-naked man's back stretching according to the movements of his hands. I saw him holding two thin sticks and batting against the black drums arranged according to some order and I wondered why the stick didn't brea

The sound of the drums were awesome and it filled the room as I continued to jam. ‘They say before you start a war’ ‘You better know what you're fighting for’ ‘Well baby, you are all that I adore’ ‘If love is what you need, a soldier I will be’ ‘I’m an angel with a shotgun’ ‘Fighting til' the wars won’ ‘I don't care if heaven won't take me back’ ‘I’ll throw away my faith, babe, just to keep you safe’ ‘Don't you know you're everything I have?’

Julirys Barreto
10 out of 10! This book had me hooked from start to finish and has me wanting more! Not saying that you have to but this would make a great series, a book for each main character, I'd read them all! Glad to hear you're feeling better, keep taking care of yourself and writing these awesome stories! ...

So far, so good. I like the author's writing style and ability to have both strong and weak female & male characters. There are some grammar and spelling errors, but minor and easy to overlook. Better communication regarding updates would be appreciated, but this platform is not for career money.
