I Had Read The Book Novels & Stories

I just realized Oh my God, this is my room! I took my hand over my mouth with a shocked expression on my face. Two Hours Later... “Done, I love that book. I can read a thousand times and not get tired of it.” I said no partially. Okay, Avery, I started reading a book called Fear Me” Oh, boy I can feel my insides tingle when I open the book. Three More Hours Later...

“What the hell is going on here?” My rasping voice only accentuated the strange, forlorn silence of my home. Nothing made any sense. Nothing seemed or felt real. Hadn’t, really, since we’d discovered those two dead dogs and that altar in the clearing, and especially since yesterday morning . . . When I’d seen that damned book at The General Store. The book I’d apparently bought in a fugue state and then read multiple times without remembering anything. The book that . . . I opened my eyes, looked down and—feeling very little surprise—saw The King Wears Yellow sitting open before me on the den table.

I paused to take a deep breath before entering the room, I truly hoped no one would be there because I didn't want to have to answer any questions. I pushed the doors open and entered. It was quiet and a bit dark, save for the small shadow of sunlight that peeped though the small window. It was extremely cold in here and I loved it. I sniffed the last bits of my tears away and proceeded to look for a book to read from the shelves. I hadn't gotten far when I saw the pride and prejudice book. I smiled, picking it up from where it rested on the shelf. I had read this book more than 5 times but I would never get tired of reading it all over again. I opened the first page with a grin.

~CAMILLE~ When I returned to the room, my eyes caught a book on the stool beside the bed. It was the one I had been reading yesterday before the heat—A Wolf Before Title. He must have taken it with him yesterday, since I was clinging to it before he arrived. That was thoughtful of him. Since I had nowhere to go today, I decided to read until the day ended. Picking up the book, I settled onto the bed, lying on my side, and opened to the next page. I hadn’t even finished the first paragraph when a thud came at the door.

His posture was too relaxed, legs spread lazily, as though he wasn’t about to read forbidden love declarations in front of half the town. “Maya, can you…” I was about to ask her to find someone else to read but April interrupted me. “You know you can't say no when you're asked to read,” she said firmly. I know she wasn't concerned about the book club rules, she just wanted me to read with Kael. My hands trembled as I picked up my book. My voice already felt like it would betray me, shaking in a way that had nothing to do with nerves and everything to do with the boy across from me.

Both were really awkward at each other at first but when they found out that both were reading the same book, they eventually got a comfortable to talk at each other. “So, you also read that book-” “Yeah, I got into it after a friend of mine recommended it to me.” “Isn’t it a great book.” “Yeah, I got hooked on it after reading the first chapter.” “bla-bla-bla” Both continued to talked to each other and enjoyed their conversation. “I was feeling an awkward atmosphere growing between our table so I was gonna try to start a conversation but when you brought out your book, I was just surprised to see a person reading it.” The girl said.

Maybe the writer had in mind to deviate the readers’ thoughts about the book at first glance. I lazily stretched my hand to pick the book, finally recalling, when I opened the first page, that it was literally the book I had been searching for. How did I not realize it was actually the last book I have read so far? I flipped through the pages, searching the actual chapter I read about poisons that I had once regarded as unreal.

My birth wasn't mentioned, the same as my death. When I was on the verge of giving up on reading, I took a last glance at the book and sighed. I closed the book, stood up, and got ready to sleep. Then, the book opened itself. It was a moment of 'didn't I close this book?' I paced around at short distances, took note of the page and closed it again. I glared at the book till I was on my bed and the book never opened - maybe it is my illusion.
