As if I hadn’t seen right through his weak attempt at playing me. It was almost insulting how little they thought of me. If they were going to paint me as the villain in their story, the least they could do was acknowledge just how dangerous I could be. I wasn’t a monster. Not really. But a villain? Well, maybe. I mean, we’re all villains in someone’s story, aren’t we? The way I saw it, I was just trying to survive. This world didn’t reward the weak. It was survival of the fittest, and I was born to win. I had to win.

He noticed it and immediately said, “I have scream proof walls.” Tahr filled me with so much relief. More relief than I'd ever felt all at once. It came crashing down. My lips pulled into a dark smile as I opened my lips to speak. “Like I said, I want out of this. I want out of this fucked up world you created. Your powers are no good. Even without having them, I can now see you are nothing but a brute. A villain.” He laughed. “Did I ever tell you I was a hero?”

And the second, I’m laughing like a child who got the attention of his crush. Around her. I do feel like a fucking child. Everything I know and that I have gone disappears and I find myself Turing to find the right words. Trying to do the right thing. Should I mention how hard as fuck that is? I used to think righteous people were weak and that’s why they followed roles and had airtight principles. Now that I’m trying to not be a cruel bastard. I’m seeing how much harder it is to be good than to be bad. Being a villain or a scary alpha is the easiest route. And I guess that makes us fucking weak and not the other way around.

I whispered to Kelly. “Oh! shush… you have nothing to worry about. If you are a good person alpha will sense that. The only ones he ever rejects are the ones with ill intent. I can tell you are a good person. Try not to worry and tell him your story.” Kelly didn’t know all of what I had been through the last few days. All I told her is that I was running from someone vile and awful. I gave Kelly a nod signaling her to go ahead and knock on the door.

"Why are you trying to comfort me? If my powers return, Natasha's crew is the first people I will murder. You and I aren't friends, even if you feed me." There is laughter. "You're so mean." I narrow my eyes further. "Well, I'm the villain—I'm not supposed to be friendly, especially not toward you." "I haven't done you anything," the man still sounds amused. He sounds like a total prankster, the guy whose job is to make everyone around him laugh and smile. "So please spare me—I'm too young to die." I lift my nose into the air, sneezing. "Hmph! I won't spare anyone!"

“I’m already labeled something I can’t escape. So it didn’t matter if I got hurt.” There was a pause. My wolf stirred uneasily. That’s not entirely true, Ava. I ignored her again. “But I couldn’t let you be seen that way,” I continued. Anderson’s brow tightened slightly. “Like what?” I met his eyes. For a second, something in my chest softened. “You don’t deserve to be painted as a villain,” I said. My voice came out steadier than I expected. “Even if you’re strict… even if you’re difficult… you’re still a good lawyer.”

Maybe the only way out is through. “I’ll do it,” I hear myself say. Mia blinks. “You will?” she asks. “Thought we were team ‘no joint circus.’” “I’m not doing it for him,” I say. “I’m doing it because I’m tired of watching strangers debate whether I’m a victim or a villain when they’ve never heard my version.” I look at Dante.

I don’t know if it’s just dark, but I saw hurt and sadness in his eyes. I heard his shoes clacking. "I am not here to fight with you. I am not the villain here, Fajra. " My shaking hands groped my behind, looking for the important weapon I could use right now. "Villain? Are you a damn hero in a sick children's story? Don’t make me laugh, mister. Of course, you’re not a villain because you’re a fvcking criminal. " He didn’t say anything. My mouth did all the talking to buy more time, and when he was a few steps away from me, I finally felt it in my hands. I grabbed it firmly.

I smiled at Nate. I left them both. Idiots, as long as I live, I will not give up Ian to anyone! I'm making myself a villain now. I'll make sure, this time the villain will win. Just wait Ian, and Nate, you'll see the real me! ....
