I'm alone. Completely alone, except for my job, which is my life, and my two best friends, who have actual social lives. But I'm alone. I was alone in High School when my Dad was forced to leave and my Mother forcefully took my sister and I away from him. I was alone in College when I spent my whole four years studying and only studying for a degree no one but my father cared about, and I'm alone now, as I cry on my kitchen floor, with my dog, Pedro, who looks confused, because I truly have no one who cares with me.

She stood at the terrace staring at the clouds above her. All the things she'd been through and all the secrets, she had to keep started replaying in her head. It wasn't easy for her to behave normally after all she had been through to get this far. To be the lady she is now. All the time she was alone, she always remembered what was happening in her life currently. Even at times when she wasn't alone, she kept on remembering about her life. She heard thud of boots on the floor. She didn't bother to turn around to see who it was. She just wanted to get some fresh air before she could go inside.

Lucas just said he now has a girlfriend? “Heidi? Heidi! Hey! Breathe!” I stood up from my bed, rushed towards the window, trying so hard to fight back tears. “I…think it was a bad idea asking you to spend the night here. I want to be alone.” He stood behind me, and I could imagine the confused look on his face. “Why? Did I say something wrong?” I sniffed, wiping off the stubborn tear that’d found it’s way down my cheek. “I just wanna be alone.”

Natalie said nothing. That silence was soon broken by the ringing of her phone. However, she looked at the screen and did not pick up. Then, it was my phone’s turn to ring. It was an unknown number. I accepted the call, and Yarden’s voice came through, sounding calm, gentle, but weak. “Mr. Jenkins, this is Yarden. I know you’re with Natalie right now. Can I… explain something to you?” I put the sound on speaker and set the phone on the table.

The photo was of a hospital bed, and the caption read, "Came back all alone for treatment. How sad." The guests began to whisper about the groom suddenly running away from his own wedding when my brother, Alvin Chilton, stepped forward. "Joy, you've always been strong, so I know you can handle this alone. Gwen needs me more than you right now." With that, he was out the door as well. Both of them had deserted me for the same woman. I tried calling Theodore's phone, but it remained unreachable. Soon, I noticed that Gwen had updated her social media account again.

“If your wolf is fading, that’s serious and dangerous... Wait, is this why you couldn't fight that rogue when he tried to attack you?” “I’m handling it,” I say tightly. “With my mom’s help.” He goes quiet. His face is unreadable, but I can feel the tension radiating off him. Then, softer, almost pleading, he says, “You shouldn’t be alone right now. Let me help.” “You’ve already helped enough,” I whisper. “And I’m grateful. Truly. But this… this is something I need to figure out on my own. Excuse me, my mom is waiting outside.”
