My heart is hammering crazily and I feel my heart beat quickened as I make my way to the front of my car while chanting prays for him to be alive. "Was I hallucinating?! He looked at me with a gentle smile as he greeted, "Good evening Miss, why are you standing here all alone? Are you missing? You looked troubled." Wait, what?! Isn't he working with my husband? How come he didn't recognize me? Is it because I look different when I styled myself?

I think I am going insane because I can't see the person I think I am seeing. I forget about the selfie and turn to the parking. His back is on me now, and he is walking away behind the cars. It was as if he had vanished into thin air. My pulse quickened with a sense of urgency as I glanced around, my senses on high alert for any trace of his presence. Had I really seen him, or had my eyes been playing tricks on me in the midst of my panicked state? The crowd was rumbling around us and watching his every move. "I don't know who he is!" he repeated angrily. "What do you know?!" I yelled. "He's like a ghost," the man said tensely. The look in his eye told me that he was telling the truth. He looked disturbed by what he was saying to me. "He has no scent–none whatsoever. It's not that he masks it; it just isn't there. He moves over the ground like a phantom. I've never heard so much as a twig snap beneath his step. There are days I think he's a delusion, that my mind has invented him."

I said quickly, since I no longer felt at ease. When I had passed the man a few steps, I looked back at him. He also gazing at me. His forehead furrowed as if remembering where he had seen me. “Yes, yes. Babe, I’m here.” I heard the man say while talking on the phone. I have averted my eyes from that man and banished him from my thoughts. I was sure I had never seen him in my entire life except today, so I was sure we didn’t know each other.

The doors shut and it pulled away almost immediately. Inside, the silence was thick again, but this time it wasn't quiet. It was tense. Alive. "What did you see?" Soren asked. I took a shaky breath, trying to steady myself. The image was already slipping away, as if my mind hadn't had enough time to hold onto it. "There was a man," I said. "He wasn't running like everyone else. He was just... standing there." I told him everything I could remember. The way the man had been watching me.
