Not hope that Marcus would come back. Not hope that my situation would magically fix itself. Just hope that maybe, eventually, I'd be okay. That life could be good again, even without him. It wasn't much. But it was something. And right now, something was enough.

It would be easy. I hoped.

A good impression indeed. I could only hope this would go well.

But if there's a silver bit of hope, I want to grab onto it. Maybe…. Just maybe.

I hoped but hoping has never been enough, has it? Tomorrow, I would find out for myself.
