My fingertips went numb, a chill creeping up my spine.
He continued, unhurried, each word a blunt blade carving into me.
"She was selfish. Hypocritical. Always playing the victim."
"She was nothing, yet insisted on standing where she didn't belong."
"Thankfully, I finally managed to get rid of her."
I stared at him, nails digging deep into my palms.
So this was how he saw me.
A short, bitter snort escaped me.
He glanced at me, surprised, but didn't stop.
"You know what?" He leaned forward again, contempt dripping from his voice. "If I could, I wish I'd never met her."
