“Aurora… are you really okay?” I opened my mouth, but nothing came out. My throat closed up, and before I could stop it, I felt hot tears spilling down my cheeks. I quickly pressed the heels of my palms to my eyes, shaking my head. “I’m sorry,” I whispered hoarsely. “I tried not to cry, Caroline. I swear I tried. But I can’t help it.” Her hand slid over mine, gently pulling my hands away from my face so she could see me. “Hey, don’t apologize,” she said softly. “You don’t ever have to apologize to me for feeling something.”

"Are you going to cry? You look like you want to." Claire and Sonia giggled. Lucy looked positively gleeful at the prospect. Her lips stretched and kept stretching into a wide, triumphant smile. To my horror, I felt my eyes prickle with tears. Quickly, I turned my back on them. More by luck than by sight, I eventually found myself in the bathroom. I dashed into a stall, shot the bolt and cried my heart out. A while later- it could have been minutes, hours- I eventually left the stall, made my way to the sink. I still don’t know why zucchini. “Hiii,” I said, sitting up straighter and kicking the ice cream bucket under the bed. My eyes felt puffy and raw. I tossed another tissue to the already mountainous pile beside me. “Are you good?” Maya asked. “I guess so,” I shrugged. “I cried my eyes out all of last week. I think I may have officially run out of tears.” “That’s impossible,” she said, tiptoeing through the scattered tissues like they were landmines. She climbed onto the bed next to me. “Okay. You need a reset because cry baby Charlotte has got to go.”

My own tears were about to spill over. "If you're sad… you have to cry!" Lily's voice trembled. "You can't hold it in all by yourself!" Silence. Then— "I'm here…" Her crying didn't stop. "I'll be with you…" "So… it's okay…" "You can cry…" Silence. Long. Very long. Then— A small voice. Broken. Like something finally cracking. I hold my breath. And then— Crying. Softly. At first. Then growing clearer.

My heart clenched and I sat up, eyes wide as I went to the next voice message. “Please L. No one wants to help. I can’t. I can’t….” Irya cried. She was crying so hard I felt my tears burn as I clenched the phone. She sounded so broken, shuttered as she wept her heart out. I could not listen past the fifth voicemail because I was shaking, Elio’s arms hugging me tightly.

Sarah nodded, she couldn't say a word, because Sarah's tears welled up, she covered her face and sobbed. Sarah cried so loudly, her cry was like a baby's. Sarah couldn't contain her emotions. For her, it was a huge shock. Layla watched Sarah's actions, she didn't know what to do but hug Sarah and comfort her. Layla's voice was softer, she said, "Alright. Everything is solvable. If you want to cry, cry, cry a lot. The person next to you is me, you don't have to be afraid, live with your feelings. Cry, cry a lot."

She looked down at herself, at the brown water pooling around her feet, and her bottom lip started to tremble. Then she started crying. Not quiet, pretty tears. Loud, ugly sobs that echoed off the bathroom walls. She covered her face with her hands, shoulders shaking as she cried harder and harder. “Please stop,” she sobbed. “Please… I’m sorry… I’m so sorry…” I kept recording. Bianca laughed. Ashley took out her own phone and started recording too. Rebecca just stood there, smirking like she was proud of herself. “Look at her,” Bianca said loudly, making sure the video caught it. “Crying like a baby because she finally got what she deserved.”

Carly's laughter was tinged with bitterness. "Pack, pack, pack... who cares? You're always talking about the pack, Gabe. What about me? What about my happiness?" she shouted, tears streaming down her face. The table erupted into chaos. Augustine slammed his fist on the table, while April shrank back, frightened. My triplets exchanged worried glances, sensing the escalating tension. Lucien's eyes welled up with tears, while Rosaline's face turned icy. Camilla looked lost, unsure of what to do.

Realizing what I just did, I immediately let go and covered my own face, stomping my foot hard. "Ugh! That wasn’t funny!" I cried out angrily, tears springing to my eyes. He made me look like a fool! He stopped laughing and looked at me, his expression softening. That just made me cry even more because it reminded me of Calvin. I stood up, about to leave, but he grabbed my right hand. I cried harder. I pulled my hand away without looking back at him. I ran straight to my room, jumped onto my bed, and cried my heart out, mourning my longing for Calvin.
