Chapter 7: The Power Struggle Isla’s heart raced as she walked down the dimly lit hallway at Inferno, the thumping bass of the club’s music still vibrating through the floor beneath her. She had managed to escape the chaos of the main room, seeking a brief moment of solitude to think. The club was alive with energy, but for Isla, every step closer to the backrooms of Inferno felt like she was entering another world—one where she had to keep her composure, where secrets were traded like currency.

She hadn’t wanted to come back but when your aunt goes missing and leaves behind a house full of old debts and older secrets, you show up. She dragged her suitcase behind her, wheels stuttering over the cracked pavement, until the shadowed bulk of the Loma cabin emerged from the woods. It was more rot than home now. Half-leaning, the porch slouched like it was too tired to stay upright. Mira didn’t knock. She didn’t need to. She had just shoved the door open when a strange sound broke through the forest behind her. A crunch. A growl. Her hand froze on the rusted doorknob, and then...him.

Elira drove through Hollow Vale with the hoodie of her oversized cloak drawn low, hiding most of her face. The early morning fog clung to the windshield as her car coasted past the crumbling town signs and sleeping houses. The woods on either side of the long stretch of road stood silent and watchful, like sentinels to what was coming.

“I didn’t ask to.” “And yet you came.” Elira looked around. “Why now? Why me?” The Seabound woman reached out—and placed a palm against Elira’s chest. The mark beneath her skin flared. “You are the key to the Rift.” Elira frowned. “What Rift?” The woman stepped back, voice grave. “The place where the Moon drowned and never returned.” --- They led her to the center of the isle. There, hidden beneath coral-covered ruins, was a great mirror—circular, vast, filled not with reflection but motion. She looked into it and saw a city—burning beneath the ocean. Cracked towers. Fading lights. Wolves made of coral and shadow pacing through empty temples.

"She’s... she’s too strong..." The yacht suddenly hit a massive, submerged object. The entire vessel groaned as the hull was ripped open. Water began to pour into the cabin, but it wasn't blue river water. It was thick, glowing violet liquid. "The Island isn't a place, Silas!" Julian’s voice boomed from a hidden speaker on the hull. "The Island is a laboratory under the sea! And you just steered the Template right into the intake valve!"

“How do you know it is not King Galian’s wyvern? And what does that spell do?” Eluvene flicked her thick braid over her shoulder. “The Dark Illusion will blend the camp with the forest. While we can see outside the mist, others can’t spot us. I am sure you used illusion spells before.” “Illusions are one of the spells that should not be used!” Milton said in an angry tone. “Now, tell me about the wyvern!”

That's when I heard one of my man running towards us. " There we saw a tyre mark going towards deep into the forest " he said. We all quickly went there and began to follow that tyre mark. We walked ahead and half an hour already passed . Suddenly a beam a light pierced into our eyes making us not to see anything. With much difficulty I looked ahead and saw a black image in between that beam of light. It was headlight of a car. As he walked little ahead I saw that bastard's face Rudra... " You bloody........" I raged like a snarling bull

Niffa said as she run to catch up with the old man. “I’m telling you this for the last time, do not go in there,” he said and leave Niffa outside. Niffa was confused, she wanted to convince the old man. The sky was bright but cloudy, she cannot feel the sun that mostly had warmth on her skin. The place was cold as she look around, the place was surrounded by huge trees. She was like in the middle of a circle space. She look at the wooden hut, the old man was inside. Niffa decided to escape, she run slowly making no sounds of heavy footsteps. She should suppose to step inside the dark forest but she hit an invisible wall and she falls to the ground. After freshening up, he quickly stepped out of his room to Carilla’s private office. With two knocks and a “May I come in?”, August entered the old woman’s space with delight. He watched as she whispered into her phone and hurriedly pocketed it. “August! Welcome back, dear!” >>> “So you’re saying that this will be your last job with the group?” May, the newest member of the team, asked Evangeline. “I’m saying that this will be my last as a grifter ever,” she replied. Evangeline wouldn’t have returned even if they targeted the most handsome or richest person in the world.
