Alpha's Regret After I Died
It hurt.
Not in one place but everywhere. Heat surged through me, wild and out of control, burning through my veins, my bones, my blood. My body didn’t know what to do with it all. I clawed at the earth, fingers digging into dirt, trying to hold on to something, anything.
I couldn’t see or think.
I couldn’t stop it.
I squeezed my eyes shut, fighting not to disappear, not to let it take me under.
Please.
Slowly, the spinning eased. The burning softened into something deeper, no longer tearing me apart. I sucked in a breath. My chest was rising and falling as the world stopped pitching beneath me.
