I woke up several times throughout the course of the night though, my dreams were very, very jumpy. In my dreams, the man succeeded in opening the door, but nobody had come and intervened. I was left alone to take down the attacker all by myself. I was able to hit him with a weapon but he was much swifter and stabbed me with his knife. Luckily though, it was all in my dream and not real. .

It ended in a room with no windows. "I want to go home," I murmur, my cheek pressed against the rough concrete. "Dad... Mum... please..." The darkness sweeps over me, pulling me down into a restless, feverish sleep. I don't know how long I sleep. I dream of the knife. In the dream, the knife is the size of a sword. César is holding it. He isn't angry. He's smiling. He tells me he's doing this for my own good. He cuts me open, piece by piece, looking for something inside me.

Him holding me, me curled into him like I never wanted to leave. Until I woke up. I didn’t even realize I had gotten up. One moment I was dreaming, the next, I was standing over him, and there was a knife in my hand. I don’t even know where I got it from. My breath came in sharp, uneven gasps. My hand shook, but I couldn’t drop it. My heart was screaming. My soul was screaming. But the voice in my head was louder. ‘Do it!’ I looked down at Kaidon. He was asleep, chest rising and falling peacefully. His hand rested beside mine on the sheets, his lips slightly parted.

I dive for it, wrapping both hands around the handle. "Get away from me!" I point the blade at them with shaking arms. But they don't stop. They keep walking forward, talking in that sick, dreamy voice about our 'future together,' about how I can never escape our 'love,' about all the things they want to do to me. "Stop it!" The scream tears out of my throat. "STOP!" They lunges forward. I thrust my hand out instinctively. The sound of flesh being pierced fills the air. I glance down and see the knife buried in his stomach. I'm hyperventilating, sobbing, shaking so hard I can barely stand. This can't be real. This can't be happening.

It was amusing to me and I had planned on going easy on her because I knew she couldn’t do it, not until she flung the knife at me and cut me on my face. It wasn’t a deep cut, it didn’t even hurt but I found myself helplessly getting Infuriated. Especially when she looked at me with such venomous eyes and also had a satisfied look when she saw the cut that she gave me. It was just a dream but then it felt too real at that moment and I wasn’t thinking as I just followed my angry instincts and grabbed her by the neck, choking her until she passed out then I woke up only to see that it was just a dream and I wasn’t ever with Jenny in flesh even though it felt so real.

Because when the knife drops from my fingers, I don’t fall. I don’t cry. I breathe. Just once. And I focus on it. The inhale. The exhale.

Five days later. NOTHING’S FAIR IN LOVE AND WAR. I'm in a dark room, unable to make out my surroundings. I'm standing over someone, a stranger. My hands are trembling, and I can feel something heavy in them. I look down and realize that I am holding a knife. I am about to kill this person.
