My knees trembled beneath me as the burning spread, searing deeper and deeper, like molten metal poured straight into my bloodstream. I forced my face to remain still. Lily was speaking again. I could see her lips moving. But her voice sounded distant, muffled, as though I had been plunged underwater. The words blurred together into meaningless noise. The chamber spun slowly around me. My vision dimmed at the edges. The fire inside me only grew hotter. My heartbeat thundered in my ears as my strength began to slip away, inch by inch. The pain was swallowing everything...my balance, my breath, my thoughts.

It’s the most beautiful fire that I have ever seen. My feet move of their own accord as they take me closer to it. My hand reaches out to the flames and its almost as if they jump to greet me like an old friend. I can feel the heat of the flame as they barely flick across my hand but I remain unafraid. It almost feels like the voice of a friend telling me that it will not hurt me. instinctively as my hand touches the fire and I feel its pain I snatch it away as a yelp leaves my lips.

The moment I stepped into the light, the world disappeared behind me. The air changed, thick with the scent of burning gold and ancient dust. Fire stretched across the horizon like a living ocean, every wave whispering secrets in a voice that sounded almost human. I didn’t know if I was standing on solid ground or on the heart of a star, but the heat wrapped around me like a pulse—alive, aware, and waiting.

As the fire weaved to my will I pushed forward, towards her chambers, with a kick to the charred wood I pushed her door open as my eyes roved through her room searching desperately for her. The thick smoke shrouded everything in grey making it difficult to see even with my heightened senses. A sudden fear gripped my heart as I feared for the worst. I forged on as my heart panged with fear with every step I took without seeing her. I threw a silent prayer to the goddess as I hoped for a little miracle.

The burning sensation grew wilder and wilder…pushing me towards a dangerous thought. I felt being pushed back as the flames took the reins. The fire spiraled around the thought ready to take action and it did… The raging fire suddenly flared in front of me, its flames sharp, yet cunningly smooth at the same time. A rich element that drew one in... into its beauty, so blissfully unaware the danger it would bring. It seemed to have life of its own as it put my thought in action, spreading its flames around the room, before out the door and down the corridors of the hospital. It gave me its eyes, allowing me to see everything... every direction it took as it travelled the brightly lit streets,

As she stepped inside, a surge of heat enveloped her, and she found herself transported to a vast desolate landscape filled with flickering flames. The trial had begun. Sable scanned her surroundings, taking in the scorching heat and acrid scent that permeated the air. In front of her stood a towering inferno, its flames dancing with an unnatural intensity. She knew that she had to navigate through the fire, but fear gripped her heart as doubts crept in. The heat was unbearable, and the flames seemed to taunt her with their flickering tongues.

However, I pretended to stay calm and answered, "What videos?" Austin grinned lightly and bit on my earlobe. "I'll wait for you in the wooden hut by the woods." I felt helpless as I watched Austin sauntered off. Ten minutes later, I slowly pushed open the door to the wooden hut. It was pitch-black inside, and I felt unsafe. I reached forward and carefully shuffled my way in. Suddenly, someone with a strong, muscular frame grabbed me and hugged me tightly. "Ahh!" I shrieked in surprise, but quickly calmed down afterward and fell silent. I detected a familiar scent. It was Austin.

I feel whole again as I let a small flame dance over my fingertips. I can’t resist. I run outside and create the largest fireball I’ve ever made and throw it straight into the stream causing steam to rise from the surface, I’m back baby. I put on a well fitting pale blue dress that looks like it is made of ice, the back is covered. Not because of the cold but because I want Scott to think I'm still weak., I don't need to worry about the cold anymore, not now that my flames are back.

I drew a deep breath and closed my eyes, savoring all the scents of the forest… Chills licked the back of my neck, and my muscles tensed. I heard someone scream—a woman. I heard a child's cry. Then I saw flames, felt their heat. I breathed in the smoke—choked on it. The searing sensation, the pain, the shrieks, the agony— I opened my eyes, gasping, frantically trying to catch a breath.
