Fear sharpens into fury, molten and blinding. I reach. Not with hands. With instinct. With that strange internal pull that drags me into shadows night after night without permission. The darkness beneath my feet answers. Not violently. Not chaotically. It opens. Like a mouth welcoming breath. Like a path recognizing its traveler. The shadows gripping my legs falter. Just for a second. But one second is enough. I step. Not forward. Down. Into the shadow beneath me. The world snaps sideways. Sound tears apart into jagged fragments.

It was for me alone. > “We are coming for you… child of the divided dawn.” A shiver wracked my entire body. > “We will not allow the bringer of light to survive.” My heart slammed hard enough to hurt. > “One light cannot hold all darkness.” And then the whisper turned cold. Hungry. > “We will claim what is ours.” The last trace of darkness retreated into the earth, disappearing like ink sinking into water. Silence fell again. Except this time, it was the wrong kind of silence.

That’s the only thing that we can do” Alfonso shouted and the cowards still crept in the dark “wa –what’s this?” “Ahk!” it’s a great mistake to hid and cover up in the darkness because where there’s a dark the shadows/soul is more dominant

CHAPTER 89 — INTO THE HEART OF DARKNESS Riven stumbled through the void, every step a battle against gravity and instinct alike. The air—or what passed for air—was thick with shadows, each pulse of darkness tugging at him, whispering doubts into his mind. He’s gone. He’s lost. You can’t save him. But Riven refused to listen. “He’s not gone!” he shouted into the void, voice cracking with desperation. “Luca! I’m coming for you! Hold on, damn it!”

I didn’t drown. A split second before the air was sucked out of me, a guard saved me. However, all he did was haul me onto the riverbank and dump me onto the ground. I coughed violently, gasping for air in the pitch-black darkness, my hands trembling as I reached out carefully to feel my surroundings. “Shawn?” No one answered. The only things I could hear were panicked footsteps in the distance, followed by his frantic roar. “Butler! Get a doctor here, now! Ava, wake up! Keep your eyes open. Look at me!”

The man who has snatched the light from my life, it feels like he is here or maybe I am so paranoid that my mind creates an illusion. He always makes me feel that he is not present but I know he is present in the darkness of the house. He owns it, darkness is his slave and he conquers everything with it. I entered the room and quickly switched on the lights. I can hear my own heartbeats as I gulped in fear and my hands started shaking making the water in my bottle tremble with the movements. Never in my life have I thought that I'll be this terrified to enter my own room. It feels tragic.

Nyra Darkness did not ask permission when it forced its way into my life. It didn’t knock, didn’t beg for entry. It needed no words, no promises.
