Camila stood on the balcony staring out into the cloudless sky, they were going home and there wasn’t any part of her that wanted to leave and go back home. She wanted to live her life swimming with the dolphins and climbing mountains but Roman had work, he had to get back to. Her suggestion that they relocated didn’t really get any approval so there she was staring with a sour face hoping that Roman would change his mind. She heard his footsteps coming towards her and his perfume filled her nose as he leaned against the railing staring into the sky too.

He told her. "If you do that, you wouldn't be seeing him today. I'm his right hand. The person after him. I could put in words for you to enable the meeting hold today, if you want me to. Otherwise, I'll return to my office," Caitlyn voiced out with her usual smile. Martin clenched his teeth and his fists in anger. The smile she held irritated him. To be the right hand of lawyer Bernard, she must be extremely smart and intelligent. Martin despised smart women.

She was sure he tried to see if Caleb was still keeping her well satisfied. She snarled at Ragnar. He shoved his way between her and Vernetta, his black fur standing on end, his neck just as thick as she’d remembered it, his body hefty and deadly.

She looked disturbed by Irina and her cigarette. "Hey...I'm Irina, Alek's daughter." She said, one arm folded over her chest while she held the cigarette in the other, staring at me with an interest that looked deadly. She took a puff of the cigarette and instead of turning her face to let the smoke out, she exhaled it right on my face. I didn't flinch, didn't blink, didn't react. "Hey, hey, what do you think you are doing, huh?" Natasha stepped forward, her jaw tightened.

Dying. It was the silver chain that tormented her. “See what happens when you ignore me?” Irina’s voice was full of contempt as she grinned in front of the camera, knowing I was watching them even though I was off cam, “See what you are doing to me, Alec Aoki!?”

It’s one of the reasons I trust him with something this sensitive. I wait, trying to keep my thoughts from spiraling. Collin’s face flashes in my mind, though I’ve only imagined what he might look like. He would be around six months old —maybe with Serena’s dark eyes, maybe my nose. I shake the image away before it can take hold. Focus. James’s voice crackles through the phone again. “Okay, I’ve got something. Irina Petrovna — if that’s even her real name — has some interesting connections. Looks like she’s worked with a few adoption agencies in the past. Some legit, some... not so much.”

Her name was Marina. Marina was a happy, joyful siren, with a great love for singing. In her free time, she loved to go and play with the animals of the ocean, and she was always willing to help those creatures who were in trouble. In all these aspects she was like any other siren in the ocean, but her charms came with an important detail that made her different to others: she was naïve and innocent, so she was unaware of the risks that existed beyond the surface of the ocean. Risks that only a reduced amount of sirens have lived in their flesh and have barely made it to escape from them.
