So, I stopped myself from arguing with him and just got out of the car while holding the paper bags. When I closed the door of his car, he instantly drove away. I was then left behind, confused. What have I done? Why did he gets mad and suddenly snap at me? I sighed. I just don't want to accept unnecessary things coming from him. Because he is my boss for Pete’s sake! I don’t want him to think that I am abusing his kindness. And I am not a materialistic person. For me, it is the thought that counts. I could not understand why that man was so irritable. He gets mad easily even on simple things.

Silence and tension pervaded everything because this department was full of strange people, including Roxanne. Roxanne was a quiet and taciturn person. They make and destroy people without having to lift a finger or move from their chairs.
