Jael asked curiously. They were all baffled because papers and books were not yet invented at that time. I wasn't well versed in history during my previous life, but what I remember is that the paper was derived from the term 'papyrus'. It was a paper-like plant-based writing sheet used in Ancient Egypt. It was technically made from a water plant that was cut into thin strips and woven together before being pressed tightly to create a single writing sheet. However, traditional paper was first made in China, and it was made from plant fibers. There were also books from ancient times that were made from parchment. Parchments were originally made from animal skin—mainly goat, sheep, and calves.

Winter

Winter

“This isn’t Proto-Indo-European. This even Old Norse…this is…Proto-Norse. Except…it looks closer to Pre-Proto-Germanic.” The page itself somehow had been preserved incredibly. Apparently, it hadn’t been touched by the moist air of the North over the thousands of years. The ink itself didn’t seep into the parchment of the scroll but instead sat floating on top. It must have taken days to dry before they were able to roll up the scroll.

And the tests were never simple. Jim eyed the device again, Still looking skeptical. "But why not just pry it apart? Or smash it? The metal looks delicate, and marble is a soft rock." Sophie smiled. "Because it is designed in a way that if you try to force it open in any way, the message self-destructs. Which." Sophie reached into the box and carefully lifted out the cylinder." Any information to be inserted is first written on a papyrus scroll." "Not vellum?" Sophie shook her head. "Papyrus. I know sheep's vellum was more durable and more common in those days, but it had to be papyrus. The thinner the best."

Please elaborate". remarked Abhi in an intriguing way. " Using his edicts written in at least three regional Prakrit languages in Brahmi script—all of which are very similar to Pali—Emperor Ashoka raised a number of pillars. Based on an earlier oral tradition, the earliest written account of the Pali canon is said to have been created in Sri Lanka. As to the Mahavamsa, the official chronicle of Sri Lanka, during King Vattagamini's reign in 100 BCE, Buddhist monks recorded the Pali canon because of a severe famine that struck the nation. James Prinsep utilized bilingual coins with Greek and Pali printed in the Kharosthi script to decode the Kharosthi abugida. The finding of the Gandharan Budd

He paused for a moment, thinking. "I wonder what they wanted to get away from?" Shawn said from behind them. "Yeah," Dave continued. "You can tell from the formation of the images, the lines, the way they have been etched, that these are some of the more historical forms of writing. Very old. Not just 14th-century kinds of old, but older than that." "You see," he went on, "eventually, this one went to a more abbreviated form of writing. Odd, almost like the Indian…thingy."

Devil, Be Nice

Devil, Be Nice

Scholar Rai held the ancient scroll between two calloused fingers, studying the faded ink with narrowed eyes. The papyrus was brown with age, the content written in a verbose and grand manner, as was usually the case with writings from hundreds of years ago. Its importance could not be translated into words. In fact, it surprised him that his lord father managed to keep these imperial treasures away from the capital. It had taken him twice the usual time to understand the runes. He found himself impressively overwhelmed not only by the sheer historic importance of these documents, but also because the prophecies spoke of the expiration of the bloods of the Old.

I Summoned Death Itself!

I Summoned Death Itself!

Every one of her senses was enthralled with a soothing calm. “Damn it!” Damon’s voice from beyond the great hall. Pushing the door open, Journee saw him buried in mountainous piles of books and scrolls. She watched him hold up a piece of parchment, comparing it to another material. It is foreign. Something I have not handled in real life. Taking a closer look, she recognised it from her history textbooks. Papyrus! OMG! They have ancient Egyptian texts here?! Excitement shot through her veins as her hands trembled with desire. Briefly, Journee allowed her fingers to trace the outline of the hieroglyphics.

In the Darkness of City Blocks

The man took short steps to the back of the bookcases, returning a few minutes later with a large, dusty pile of manuscripts, scrolls, and worn books. Together they began to carefully study the fragile pages. Julia's attention was attracted by an old papyrus manuscript, opening it, she began to read it, the words were difficult and the meaning often slippe

Called by the Dragon

“Oza? They taught you Feng script at the Tower?” “You misunderstand,” Qing interrupted, and the woman leaned back with her legs crossed under her, looking supremely contented and smug. “That isn’t Feng script, even if it was transcribed by my people. It’s older than all of us.” Older than the Feng nations? But they were the oldest civilization in all the known land, fractured though they might be. “So whose nation, then?”

The plot is thrilling from the start and I had to pace myself to avoid reading through the night. I often wanted to dive into the characters' minds myself to punch some sense into them, proof of how perfectly Mana designed them. This book deserves a thousand stars, not the mere five GN allows.

That was one epic adventure. The world was rich, detailed, full of amazing characters, and the story drew me in its tight grip and never let me go. I am a true fan of this author, it's characters, and it's story line. This was a true experience.
