My cheeks burned, a mixture of anger and something else, a dull ache deep in my chest.
"Flirting?" I managed, my voice barely above a whisper. "What are you talking about?"
Kia's eyes narrowed. "Don't play dumb, Lila. Everyone sees the way you bat your eyelashes at him. It's pathetic, honestly."
Pathetic? My jaw clenched. Dom was my trainer, sure, but we had a good rapport. We joked around, pushed each other during workouts. But flirting? Absolutely not.
"There's nothing going on between me and Dom," I said, my voice tight. "We're just friends. Workout buddies, if you will."
