“He’s older than you remember,” Nathan continues. “He got married six years before he started dating you.”
I blink. “When you say married… do you mean married and together or married and separated?”
“Married with kids,” Nathan replies. “Still living with his wife. She owns a chain of businesses she inherited. He doesn’t have to work, not in any meaningful way, but he pretends to. Uses it as a cover to disappear when he needs to.”
