I couldn’t tell if the sound was one of pain or amusement, but I didn’t have to wait long for an answer.
When they pulled back their mottled lips and grinned, I felt myself gag. Bloody gums filled their mouth, all but sliced to ribbons by the shards of glass that protruded where their teeth should have been. The third creature, a large woman whose eyes were reptilian slits of putrid green, stared me down and rumbled with laughter. Half of her body looked to have been flayed, the skin of her arm and chest peeled back, only to be replaced with bloody scales. The only thing that seemed to remain intact was her long, flowing hair.
