This was a ritual blade, ancient and wickedly sharp, with more of those wolf symbols carved into the handle.

Adrian sneers, grabbing Isaac by the collar and lifting him off the ground with terrifying ease. Isaac struggles, his fists pounding against Adrian’s chest in a futile attempt to break free. But Adrian’s grip is iron, his strength overwhelming. “Do you honestly think you could outsmart me?” Adrian asks, his voice mocking, cold. “You’ve been nothing but a pawn in this game, Isaac. And you still don’t understand, do you? You never will.” With one swift motion, Adrian pulls a knife from his belt and drives it deep into Isaac’s chest. Isaac cries out in agony, his body trembling from the pain. He tries to push Adrian away, but his limbs feel like lead, the blood draining from him too fast.

“Yes, she knew what kind of people they are so she had Cassian send you to them. She… she said she wanted you docile and… submissive.” Aurora scoffs again and Isaac cowers under her intense glare and swallows thickly, “it seems to have had the opposite effect.” Both Aurora and I let out a chuckle and she actually smirks, “you don’t say?” I pull out a dagger and another little vial of lightsbane from the black box, and I pour it over the blade. Isaac eyes me warily and I give him a smile, “Tell me, Isaac,” I say, slicing into his chest and watching as he convulses in pain. “What is it exactly that Cassandra wants? Aside from Aurora of course, what is her end game?”

His hand tightened on the sword and he edged forward. "Sooner, later, who knows?" Am-Heh's eyes turned to the grey abomination, its mouth drooling viscous salvia as it stretched to reach whatever corpse lay near, feasting on rotting flesh and bone, its belly swelling all the more as it did so.
