Zylia’s POV Fire ate everything. It roared like a living thing. It was hungry, furious, unstoppable, spreading across Howlborne’s stone walls as though the ancient kingdom were made of straw instead. The night sky glowed orange, sparks shooting upward like dying stars. Smoke burned my eyes. The heat slapped my skin even from where I stood, frozen at the edge of the battlefield. All around me, chaos erupted. Lycans charged through the blaze, their silhouettes massive, monstrous, soaked in blood and flames.

Without thinking, I tore at my collar as soft, pitiful whimpers escaped my lips. Tucker's eyes stayed on me. He asked, "Does it hurt?" I nodded, tears streaming uncontrollably down my face. "Tucker, my whole body aches… Please, help me…" My voice slipped out as a whisper, trembling under the weight of my sobs. Yet beneath it all, desire burned in every breath I took. After a moment, Tucker shifted closer, closing the space between us. "And how exactly do you want me to help?" he murmured.

His body was charred by the fire. I pulled him into my arms. ​"Lucas! Look at me! We won!" I began to shake him. ​Lucas slowly opened his eyes. His irises were now a pale grey. He grabbed my hand. "Sophia... the gas... if it mixes with the air, everyone will die... you... you have to seal it..." ​"How?" I panted.

I feel whole again as I let a small flame dance over my fingertips. I can’t resist. I run outside and create the largest fireball I’ve ever made and throw it straight into the stream causing steam to rise from the surface, I’m back baby. I put on a well fitting pale blue dress that looks like it is made of ice, the back is covered. Not because of the cold but because I want Scott to think I'm still weak., I don't need to worry about the cold anymore, not now that my flames are back.

The sight breaks my heart. I feel myself fall even more when she wraps her tiny arms around my waist. Seeking comfort I didn’t realize I was capable of giving. “Fire. Everywhere.” She said, her voice breaking with a sniff. I got the fire part. I was confused when she said ‘everywhere’. The house was fine. How could fire be everywhere? “Shhhh. Don’t worry, you’re safe now.” I whispered softly, stroking her hair. She sobs into me. Her small body shaking with her sobs.

The crackling fire cast a warm, flickering glow across the campsite, its flames dancing with an almost mesmerizing rhythm. The sound of burning wood was a symphony of popping and hissing, Sparks burst forth intermittently, ascending into the darkness like fiery stars before fading into oblivion.

“You mean the loud exploding sound outside?” Elreese fervently nodded her head. “Fireworks. Me and Sammy saw them before. In the sky. They’re very pretty.” “Is that why you’re not crying right now?” “Cry?” Elreese tilted her head. “Why you cry-cry? Fireworks are pretty. Like Sammy.” “Fireworks….fireworks,” muttered Zia to herself. “Fireworks!” she shouted. She turned to the children behind her. “Fireworks! Fireworks!” she shouted. “Fireworks!”

Alas, they continued to spread. There was a cup of water on the coffee table, but she could not use water at this point. In the past, when Charlotte and Bryson used to go on bike rides for fun, they would play with fire in the wilderness. Based on her experiences, the flames on Zenios’s pants might be small, but they would spread rapidly if she slacked even for just a moment, and his entire body would go up in flames. Hence, she had no choice but to press on and pat the flames away.

Tyson released an exaggerated breath. Chills ran down my spine. I wrapped my arms around my frame momentarily. ‘ Told you to stay put, Bitch. ’ Zoey snapped. I shook all thoughts away and ran out of the open door. Tyson followed me closely like he wanted to protect me from possible harm. My feet froze when I saw the scene before me. There was fire everywhere. Not the orange flames that licked at things. But the magenta hue that consumed everything and turned it into ashes within a few seconds.
