I smiled when I saw Cole standing by the kitchen island and he shook his head at me as his back rested against the counter top. "How are you smiling right now, my head is killing me." He said and I shrugged. "I drank a tomato smoothie earlier." I told him and he frowned at me. "I made some for you too." I said and he smiled softly. "Thank you." He said before grabbing the tomato smoothie I made for him from the refrigerator. "My dad and your mom are out of town again. For the week." Cole said and I frowned lightly. "Wow, they didn't even say goodbye." I said in disbelief.

River asked flatly, his tone laced with irritation. Cole smirked, leaning casually against the bar. He was dressed neatly, in a fitted black jacket, his hair styled perfectly. He looked like someone who belonged at a fancy party, not a dingy bar. “Relax,” Cole said, raising both hands in mock surrender. “I’m not here to fight.
