Jace leaves the comfort of the couch and comes over to me so we can take a selfie together to post to his I*******m then as routine when we are all dressed up together we pose for a picture together for my Mother's photo album, I tell you it's thicker than a dictionary, after out photoshoot we all head out, my parents drive their jeep with Lacey while the twins ride with me. I get upset over just a few words, or even over the thought of losing him. I think it’s a good idea to try to get my mind off of all of that for now. I get dressed in a plain tshirt and jeans, and open my bedroom door. I swing it open and immediately run into a rock hard wall. I look up to see a werewolf there who I haven’t met yet. He’s a young African American gentleman, with a wide and muscular build. “Good morning, Luna" he greets. “I’ve been assigned to your guard detail for the day. The name’s Jace.”

I shriek, ready to scream for help, but the words die in my throat when I see who it is. It’s my personal guard, Jace. He is this tall and scary-looking guard with a mask that has been by my side since I was little. The poor fellow can’t talk. This is why he was thrown out of his own pack. He apparently can’t shape-shift, either. But that doesn’t make him a useless werewolf. He is my father’s most talented warrior and can fight with a range of different weapons, which is why he was assigned to be my personal guard.

He reached the cabin and stopped at the base of the porch steps. He didn't look frantic. He looked profoundly confused. "Elias," Zane said, setting the canvas aside. "Is the grid stable?" "The grid is perfect," Elias said, his voice deep and calm. "There are no disputes. There is no Rot. The human ocean is empty." Elias looked at me. "I am here because of a boy," Elias said. I wiped my hands on my apron and walked to the porch railing. "A boy?" "A ten-year-old pup from Iron Crest," Elias said. "His name is Jace. His pack sent him to the Academy for assessment. They thought he was a wrong-assessment."

We could hear Blaze’s giggling as Jax took him off to play. “Gia, come over here for a sec.” I jerked my head for her to hurry her ass along. She cast the wolf shifter a dubious look, wondering what the hell he was doing here. “What’s your name, kid?” I asked him, cocking an eyebrow. He offered to shake my hand. “Jace Grayson. Whitevale’s Beta,” he introduced himself as Alpha Alec’s right-hand man. I returned the gesture, impressed so far. He was Lexi’s nephew. Now that I knew that, I could see the resemblance. They shared the same spunky attitude, having the brass neck to stand there, look me in the eye, and speak their minds.

Jace POV I watched the beauty leave while still with a raging hard-on. I don't know why I decided not to fuck her. Although I gave her an answer but deep down I know it wasn't entirely because of that. After pondering for a while I shook my head and headed out of the room. I'm Jace Lorrid, currently twenty-six years and the owner of the Lorrid group of companies, and the owner of Passion.

“Understood. I will proceed. Partial intel, controlled access, constant observation. I will exploit ambition against him while maintaining autonomy.” “Good. Jace is not Damon. He doesn’t make mistakes by impulse. He calculates, anticipates, and strikes only when risk is minimal. Your role: survive, extract, test. Do not falter, overcommit. He detects even the smallest slip, and he will not forgive. Not for sentiment, not for loyalty. Only advantage.” The weight pressed down. Jace’s lethal edge was not physical; it was mental, tactical, and psychological. He manipulated trust, timing, perception, and fear simultaneously. Patience was a weapon. I had to match it, or be consumed.

"We're not fighting, we're just teasing each other." "Are you done?" Rachel demanded as she strode forward. "Seriously, why are you even doing this if you guys want to act like this?" She brushed out her long pink locks. "Where is that damn NPC?" "You replaced him with me," Jace grumbled as he slithered forward. "You do know it's weird that I'm the only one that has a lamia race, right?" he demanded. Rachel just smirked. "You're the wife of the developer, of course, you're going to get special awards from it. I don't care what anyone else says. Now, let's get this over with."

He waved his hand, and the Pack eased down while Rider appeared, Cade and a black haired girl by his side. All three had defeated faces, their clothes covered with splatters and stains of blood. I gasped when I spotted Jace at the back while he carried the limp body of a bloodied Wolf in his arms. Everyone's face darkened, eyeing the Wolf's body while Jace carried it to the center of the clearing and gingerly placed it down. My heart pounded in my chest and I felt a wave of tears sting at my eyes. That's when I understood that the Wolf was actually Alpha Xavier, Jace's father. Surprisingly, other than his wet cheeks, Jace didn't show any signs of remorse.

Perfection, that is all I could say about my life with Jake now. Everything was too perfect as if...it wasn't even real like it was all just a dream that could be snatched away if I dared to blink an eye. Jake was everything I have ever dreamed of, he was too handsome with a body built for a Greek God but he worked for it day and night. Working out was like something werewolves had to do without even thinking about it, they just did it because it's in their nature. Jake cared for me, I couldn't complain really but ever since he found out he was born of royalty he has been...distracted.
