Factory gate. Dawson glanced at the man dressed in black standing on the first excavator and said coldly, “Eric, what is the meaning of this? Don’t you know that I’ve got shares in Purity Pharmaceuticals? I’ve never had a conflict with Jake in the past nor have I offended him recently! So, what is the meaning of this?” Dawson recognized the man in black. This person was Eric Cadman, Jake’s confidant. Eric got off the excavator and said, “Dawson, I’m acting on my boss’s order. You better get out of the way and let me raze this place. Otherwise, this matter won’t be over, and you’ll be responsible for the consequences of stopping me.”

Liberty’s eyes widen like she just got Christmas early. Jace, from somewhere outside, yells, “I HEARD THAT.” I stare at Dawson, mortified. “You. Why would you?” He looks equally embarrassed and unrepentant. “Because it matters.” Liberty claps a hand over her mouth to hide a grin. “Oh my God.” Dawson’s ears go faintly red. “I’m not.” He stops, exhales. “I’m not trying to perform it. I’m trying to… not lie about what’s real.”

Dawson chewed on his lips as he stared at Jack, he wasn't one that had blood in his hands, but he knew that there was no way he was going to let Jack live. He was a threat to him, for now, he was going to let him have Helena and after making sure he was dead, would he get her back? “ Bring her out” his voice sounded gruff as he ordered. Footsteps rustled behind him, Helena had a hand over her mouth as she glanced at Jack. “ Jack…” he watched as she ran her hands over his face, so tenderly that it ached his heart. “ Jack….” The tears ran down in torrents before she slumped in his arms.

She muttered under her breath, "They are really engaged!" Jack began introducing the others in a low tone. "This is Jonathan Dawis, Nathan’s father. This is Selina Dawis, Nathan’s stepmother. And this is Albert Dawis, Jonathan's elder brother and that's his family. And here is Selina’s son, Logan and his girlfriend, Elvira..." he paused recalling what her surname was but Ericka completed it. "Elvira Hollow" Jack shot her a surprised glance but soon composed himself and averted his gaze.

The first part sounds like admiration, but the latter carries a note of disappointment. "Yes, I’ve taken care of a child before," Dawn responds, standing up and meeting Jack’s gaze. She notices how especially handsome he looks today—no surprise for a top actor. "I thought you knew, though, since you recognized me so quickly when we first met. You’ve met Travis, haven’t you?" Jack raises an eyebrow before chuckling softly. "Well, yeah, but I didn’t think you *were* his wife." "And I wish you weren’t," he mutters under his breath, stealing a glance at her.

Jessica was not ready to say goodbye to Dawson no matter how many times the reality dawned on her. From the time of the funeral and burial arrangement to the time of laying his body six feet down underground, she doubted if she ever got herself. The whole city came out to mourn in one way or another. To them, it was a loss. Dawson was a big business tycoon whom others began to know as a philanthropist who helped struggling businesses in the past. Xavier even heard testimonies about his grandfather from the mouths of others for the first time. Jessica did not shed a tear for fear of encouraging Xavier to break down through the process. She saw how he tried his best to be strong.

Jack came up with two men. One was middle-aged, with a beer gut and a thick gold chain peeking out from his collar. The other was younger, wearing a fitted jacket, a buzz cut, and sleeves covered in tattoos. "Evelyn, meet the gentlemen. They're both dying to get this place off your hands," Jack announced, practically vibrating with excitement. "Mr. Dawson, Mr. Hayes," I nodded. "Look around. Make yourselves at home." Dawson, the one with the gold chain, did a quick circuit.

Tiffany got up and stared at Jake in shock, "How dare you? Just because I asked for your help you now want to paint Dass evil before me?" Jake got up as well, "Think about it, Tiffany. I'm not making this up. The evidence is right in front of you, you just have to see it. Do you remember when you were kicked off the cruise ship and I dived into the water to save you? After putting you on the inflatable boat, I saw him. I saw Dass and he was the......" "Enough!" Tiffany bellowed, showing Jake her palm. "That is enough, Jake. I will not tolerate one more word against Dass.

The night was young, and Jericho Jadwin was bored. None of his regular customers was causing problems, there was nobody to blackmail, and Dawn did not contact him apart from that one message from a few days ago using some random person’s phone. He did some digging and learned how Ricardo finally pulled off the coup d'etat. Some said that Dawn died, but no bodies matched his best friend’s description for obvious reasons.

I stood under the hot spray of the shower, washing away the tears and my feelings of guilt, letting the steam clear my head so I felt a little more sane. When I emerged, wrapped in a towel with my hair dripping wet, I found one of Jace's t-shirts laid out for me on his bed. It was an old football practice shirt, soft from years of washing, with "DAWSON 7" printed on the back. I pulled it on. It was enormous on me, the hem barely covered my thighs, and the sleeves hung past my elbows, and the neckline was so wide it kept sliding off one shoulder. But it smelled like him, and something about that made me feel safe.
