“What do you think?” I ran my hand along the rough bark and smiled. “It’s perfect. Storm picked it.” As the sun dipped behind the ridge, the saw bit into the trunk, the smell of fresh pine filling the air. It felt like more than a tree — it felt like a promise. By the time we loaded them all on the roof of the Hummer, Storm was asleep, the faintest smile on his lips. I tucked the blanket around him and whispered softly, “Your first Christmas, little Storm. It’s going to be beautiful.” Jenna leaned in to kiss him while the men loaded her trees onto her truck.

"My love, I missed you!" Andrew was stunned. This woman was calling him her love. He didn't know who she was, but he felt a strange connection to her. It was as if he had known her his whole life. She led him into the house, and he saw a beautiful Christmas tree decorated with ornaments and lights. There were stockings hanging by the fireplace and the smell of gingerbread cookies wafted through the air. "This is your home," the woman said. "We've been waiting for you to come home."
